So, taking the "long way" to work this morning, to hammer on the twin-screw a bit, and collect some data. I pull up to a traffic light in the left hand lane, and within a few seconds, a WRX pulls up in the lane beside me. I glance over, and think, HMMMM this could be interesting...

Neither of us made any advances, so I wasn't sure whether he would go for it or not. Light turns green, I ease out the clutch and pull out slowly, but with a good reaction time! I short shift into second, and am a half car length or so ahead of him, as I got the "jump" off the light. Still barely on the throttle, sitting at probably 2k rpm, driving like my grandma.

Then, I hear a noise, and see him going by me on the right. I hammered the throttle down as he passed, and almost instantly I jumped about a car length ahead. I pulled all the way thru 2nd, shifted into third, and pulled all the way thru 3rd. During the third gear pull, I see him rapidly becoming smaller in my rear-view.

I short shifted into 4th at that point, about 80 mph, and let off the gas. He was a good 4-5 car lengths behind.

I slow way down, he pulls up beside, and gives a big thumbs up. Gave me props for my car, and tells me that now he needs to go buy an STI. I told him to go get one, and then look me up!!!

Little does he know, I have a good 40-50% more boost up my sleeve in the coming weeks, and some dyno tuning to go!!!

Twin-screw 325is: 1
WRX: 0

Stay tuned, as Stimpee feeds his juvenile tendencies, and puts the twin-screw thru its paces...

:D

Sweet kill! Too bad I couldn't wait any longer to be FI. I already bought the AA SC, but I would have been really interested in your Screwsquared setup.

Nice car, nice kill Steve. And props to the guy for being a good sport, and to you for not being an obnoxious jerk.

I had first hand experience with Steve's car, and it's a very significant improvement over stock, even without all the tuning and 2 more psi of boost. I'll still give you a run from a roll in my other car though after you've optimized the setup:devillook

Congrats on the kill! Glad he was sportsman-like.

I could answer this one in so many different ways, but Dave (SilverStreak) is better at it. :D

But for a good answer, I will leave this one up to Steve.

Go to the FI forum, and do a search, or find the Stimpee's Twin Screw thread. Plenty of info there. I will have a web site up in the not too distant future with info on it as well.
