View Full Version : An opinion on these wheels please
53helofe 02-04-2009, 12:12 AM Both of these are the same style just different finishes. I have a slight inability to picture things in my head, therefore the movie is always better than the book to me :D Talk about a pain when trying to figure out what color to paint a room since I have no idea what it will look like when it is done :( So I can not picture what these two finishes would look like on the car, mine is black by the way, and I have no idea how to photo shop or anything like that.
Could you guys/gals give me an opinion about what each might look like on a black car. Whether that be you think one would look better than the other. I found these on ebay and they have a staggered set listed but instead of 8" in the front they list an 8.5" front wheel and 13 and 15 offset respectively front/rear. Would that still fit in the front of this car and would that mean I would need something different from a 245/40 for the front. I guess also would the 15 offset vs the 25 offset for the rear wheel be a problem?
Thanks for your feedback and enlightenment on this for me.

Iamnotkento 02-04-2009, 12:21 AM I personally like number 1 better. But our opinion doesn't really matter.
scottym 02-04-2009, 01:03 AM Tire Rack dot com or some of the other name brand sites that show wheels on your car. Also buy your wheels from a reliable source as I have read & seen many stories where once you buy the wheels they are yours regardless!! I personally prefer to use a local dealer to have the dealer try the wheels / tires on my car to make sure they fit and have someone I can go to for service or problems.

My money is on the black crome , i was also going to go with these brand of wheels.
53helofe 02-04-2009, 02:03 AM Of course your opinions count, that is why I asked :buttrock
I do have an idea of what one I like best but that doesn't mean it will go best with the car and it also doesn't mean I am not willing to change my mind. They are both nice looking finishes and it is the style I want. They also have it in a painted black finish, but I know I personally do not want that finish for my car, and I know others do like the painted black. I see black cars with the black painted wheels with polished rims so I know what that would look like on the car.
I did look up the tire rack and they did not have any wheel for this car that I like. I thought the view wheel on vehicle thing was going to be awesome but it was not very realistic to me, especially with a black car. Almost everything was black except the wheels so it did not seem like a good representation of what the true look might be.
rcrad6653 02-04-2009, 09:19 AM Both finishes are nice. You have a black car and stated you didn't like the black wheels. The black chrome will lend itself toward the 'stealth' look if that's what you want. The silver will look great to and probably what I'd go with as I looked at these too for my other black '95. Personally I like black chrome a lot and prefer a little more subtle look. Scotty's wheels above in black chrome would be my personal choice.
53helofe 02-04-2009, 10:50 AM I do think the black chrome looks kind of nice, I just don't like the black painted ones. The silver ones would stand out nicely against the black car as I have seen with others black cars and silver M-Pars.
I know carspainc has the black chrome wheels on his car and they look good. I just have the inability to picture how the black chrome wheels will look on a black car. I know it will be a more subtle look than the silver but not the blacked out look like painted black will look.
I do appreciate the feed back.

53helofe 02-05-2009, 12:21 AM Thanks, anyone have any inputs in the technical side, like the rear offset and the 8.5" fronts instead of the standard M-par 8"?
cruppelt 02-05-2009, 06:44 PM #2 for me as well. And I would definetly go with the staggered setup. You don't have to go all the way in width at the back, but if you go with 8", you're pretty much stuck with 245 max from here on out.

I like the concept of black chrome but I do not like wheels that are all black. I like black centers with a polished lip. Those wheels you picked out seem to be all one color so I would persoanlly go wth the brighter one. Unless of course you can get the black chrome on the center with a polished lip.

I definitely am going staggered. I was not sure if the 8.5" would be too wide up front and rub on something. Also noticed the standard 245/40's on the front but have no idea what size to get for an 8.5" or if the 245/40 would be fine on it.

I finally found a pic of a black car with these black wheels on it, and while I do like this black chrome, each time I look at the pic on here of Koizumi's black car with the silver M-pars it just looks like such a great match and contrast.
Thanks for all the great inputs guys. I will be placing an order for some set of wheels near the end of the month or first part of March. :redspot
