Haha.. so ever since I moved over here.. most nights I would hear people racing.. I could tell it was really sorted out.. run after run.. old domestics, etc.. it sounded like it was coming from down the hill behind the condo complex.. maybe even on the other side of the potomach river (Maryland side)..

So fast forward to tonight..... I'm aiming my HID headlights.. I think I got it all sorted out so I drive down the hill inside our gated community to the lower area of condos.. and out the gates onto this 3 lane wide unmarket street...the entrance road to the lower condo section/a line of houses that border a park on the other side of the road that is on the shores of the river.. with a big codisac (sp??) at the end.. totally wide open/empty..perfect straight line (and perfect for aiming headlights.)

I pull around the circle and point down the road.. must be 3/4 mile long.. and sit there. I'm about to get out and fix them when a car pulls out of a line of cars on the side of the road.
drives up next to me.. and goes "right side or left"
I'm like WTF

Little did I know that this was all going on 30 seconds from where I live.. now I know what I hear every night.

Anyways I was going to have some fun (I think I could take most of the cars in that line..) but some bitch walking her dog was in the process of calling the cops. Oh well..

Funny. I just found out tonight that there are street races not too far from me tomorrow night. I'm gonna go check them out, but I really can't afford to participate.... especially not when there is a legal track only 20 minutes from the street races. I am curious to see how these things run, though.

Lots of illegal organized street racing here in Houston as well. Kinda scary at times. Be safe.

Oh yeah..it's Cul de Sac for future reference.

This thread is going to be closed shortly, unless of course there's a kill story.

MFaust, I went to Houston some time ago and could not find any street races only the big cruise spot right there in front of the galleria. Its been awhile though so they may not cruise there anymore.

Dallas has a big street racing croud on certain nights especially in the summer. Whats funny is that the cops will sit about a mile or 2 a way and let everyone race for a while before breaking it up.

I agree, street racing is dangerous and you never know whats going to happen, but every once in a while you get that urge and a car that wants to race.
