Be aware these are only for late model E31's - 93 & up. Also not identified as Gen I or Gen II. Gen II are thicker (stiffer) and a much tighter fit in the rear.

Talked to the seller via ebay. He thinks they are Gen II. I instructed him on the difference in the Gen I and Gen II. Hopefully he will do a measure to confirm which one it is. One more thing. From what he has told me, he only has the sway bars. This means no bushings, no rear support plates ( to be welded on) or brackets for the bushings. I know a lot of peaple know this but the Gen II bushings are custom made. Meaning you just can't go out and buy them. I don't think he was very happy about that news as I have not heard back from him. Tom is correct that these would fit cars 93' and up. Hope this helps someone that is looking at the auction.

Regards,

Carter

Were both generations adjustable? I can see from the pix what appears as the 3 adjustment holes.

With the k bars, you MUST add the rear bracket stiffener, if not, the stock rear bar support brackets will tear off very quickly! If this guy got them from the source, he should have gotten all the associated bushings and stiffeners and make sure they are with the bars, other wise the buyer will have much more expense!!

These can only be used on '93 and up as Tom mentioned.

Both Gen I and Gen II were adjustable

Hey guys, I just contacted the guy about buying the springs seperately. He said he had a buyer for the Greg Bars in NY that did not need the springs and he then asked what I had in mind. I'm gonna make him an offer he might refuse.

Just fyi, Karl

I have these on my car from the previous owner, but no documentation on them. How do the adjustable mounts affect handling? If you move to the shortest / closest in mount, I assume that tightens up / lessen the roll of the car? What's the cost of doing that? (Semi suspension illiterate user here...)

You should really read up on H&R springs for the E31 before you deal on those.

Neat! Is that for the GenI or GenII? What were the bar diameters? I know the GenI Rear was 19 or so, and the GenII rear was 21.5 or so, but I do not have any data on the fronts.

Gen II are too stong IMO, They will lift the inside wheel off the ground if your not careful...

No disagreement there. Still want to know the specs though. :stickoutt

Thanks Terry! I'll have to crawl under there and see how it's set up. It seems quite tail happy to me at the moment.. so we'll see how that works out with how the bars are set.

The Gen II bars were:

28.5mm front (1 1/8")
20.6mm rear (13/16")

The Gen I bars were:

27mm front (1 1/16) not positive but I think this is correct
19mm rear (3/4") I am sure of this dimension

The bars are actually in inch measurement because that is all that is available reasonably in the US. So the mm equivalent is rounded off to the nearest 0.1mm. ie. 13/16 = 20.6375mm

The setup ratios chart that was provided with the bars is NOT correct. There is no mathematical basis for these ratios! All that can be correctly said is that the furthest hole closest to the end of the bar arm will provide the least stiffness, moving inward will effectively shorten the arm and increase the stiffness.

Not sure what you mean about reading up on those springs. I checked out their website but it just said how great they are. I admit my ignorance on lowering springs and would appreciate any guideance you may have to offer.

I think he means reading up on the forums.
For many folks (my experience has been different however) the rears are much too soft-

they are great....if you want to destroy your rear shock mounts...
