I'm in Perth WA where 850is can go anywhere up to $50,000. I've seen this one with an AC Schnitzer bodykit on it for $28,000. However I saw this exact car on CarSales about 6 or so months ago. They claim that they are moving country though.

I'm seriously considering a loan for this. I was keeping my eye out for a below $20,000 540i E39 but for that I'd save my own money up anyway but this 850i seems like an epic find.

Anyway here is the link http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars...d=11D252EF7F07

Thanks. I posted in General Forums but people are just shocked at the price they CAN get up to here in Aus than helpful advice.

kento......he's in Australia fercrizzakes and he's talking Oz dollars, not US, which makes it $18,115.00

Andrew, is it this one? (http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/BMW/850i/details.aspx?R=6742099&Make=BMW&__Ns=pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_Int32%7C1%7C%7CpCar_I mageCount_Int32%7C1%7C%7CpCar_LastModifiedDate_Dat eTime%7C1&Model=850i&__N=4294967079%2083%201216%20834%20285%20257%20429 4966929&State=Western%20Australia&distance=500&silo=1003&seot=0&Cr=0&__Nne=20&trecs=2&state_id=83&__sid=11F27A9AFC37) Are you aware of the buyer's checklist that's available? It appears to have the full AC Schnitzer treatment, including the mirrors on the aerodynamics. That alone sets it apart from a standard offering, especially where you are. This is an exciting time for you I know, but research and patience to make an informed decision will certainly pay off in the long run. Parts, qualified mechanics, and cost of those comes dear in Oz.

Yes thats the one, apologies for the broken link! It's a fantastic price for Australia yet alone WA (smaller population so everything more expensive).

I have had a fair bit of research as it is. I'm of course would take it to the BMW Dealership to have a full on inspection. I love the tails on this one too. Usually I think the 8-Series could have done so much better with the rear but the ACS Kit and those lights make up for it.

Oh and one other thing...what is the satisfaction like owning an 850i?

That question my friend, will be answered by the looks of a driver next to you at a light.... to the sound of a well tuned 12 cylinder engine... and everything in between.....

You'll love the 8, but be prepared to shower her initially with $$$ to get her up to peak condition. Then enjoy your love affair :D

There's nothing like an 8!

I don't know if he posts on this board but you could try and talk to Theo in Melborne to get an australian angle on the 8. I know he's not exactly just around the corner from you but it might be worth a try. Here's an old email address from another board he posts on:
