It was time to renew the brakes on my 95 m3 with 95k miles, so while my car was at AA getting the turbo installed I had them stick their aftermarket "tuv-approved" cross drilled rotors on the car with Axxis Ultimates.
Since I am not tracking the car I figured I was OKwith holding off on a big brake kit.
In normal driving, the brakes are great, and the Axxis Ultimates generate a lot less dust than the stock pads.
However, I noted when I was doing a series of stops to get used to the braking again that I got a shimmy in the steering wheel.
Of course I figured I wopped them suckas, but i was surprised that the shimmy has now disappeared. I haven't repeated the experiment, but at this point you couldn't tell that I had a problem at all.
Can it be normal for "good" brakes to warp slightly when hot and then go back to normal when cool?
If anyone has any insight I'd appreciate it.
