After my countinuous search for the problem causing the occasional stiffening of the steering, it turns out it is the pump...
Nobody I know in the UK however can recondition/rebuild this pump. The cost new is in excess of 650GBP!!
Does anybody know an alternative?? I contacted some breakers asking 50 pounds for a pump that "worked" before they broke the car 2-3 months ago.. What if I get it and it fails in a month or doesn't work at all? Thank you!!

Danny, what are the last 7 numbers of your VIN. Can't help if we don't know what car you have.

Don't have the docs here at work, but it's a Euro right hand drive 10/1996 840Ci Auto m62 4.4L engine. The servotronik pump model is LF68, LUK is 210 59 75, 130 bar. Do you think a pump from another model will fit (E32 740/50, E38?). Thanks!

Yes, this is the one, but you can't order from this site? Where is the price taken from?

I think I have one, will check. Please contact me offline at parts@finemotoring.com. I have a bunch of pumps and boxes coming in next week, might be something in that lot that will work. Often the same pump body is used with slightly different back sections for different models and the only real difference is the port locations. Does your car have AHK (rear-steer)? IIRC most 840s did not. What's your VIN?
