Never knew him personally, but everyone in the paddock had nothing but the highest regard for him as a man and crew chief!

I keep trying to write something but I'm lost for words. Very sad to hear.

yeah I read that, real sad. I'm pretty sure he was the reason RTR has been so sucessful over the years.

Motorcyles don't kill dumb drivers do!

I see so many people barely miss motorcycles on the road its like they think the motorcycle will just get out of the way for them.. I see no respect on the road for motorcycle drivers/riders!

That's really unfortunate. I'm not married but I'd hate to think that losing a spouse would be like...or any family member at that.

This is OT, but it said that he was from Milwaukee and was born in Gladstone, MI...There's a Milwaukee and Gladstone in Oregon too. Lol, just an observation.

He's certainly one of the large reasons why BMW hasn't been able to pull off a championship in World Challenge Touring Car Racing!! And yet, you won't find a single BMW team in the paddock who didn't think he was one of the greatest guys around. Tough circumstances...I'll find it hard not to cheer for RTR the rest of the year, even if it means the BMW folks suffer, and Pierre wins again.

This is very sad news, but good to see over here on the BMW message boards! Just goes to show has great the racing community is. I met Zimmermann at the 12 hrs. of Sebring last year and he talked to me for a bit about some stuff they had going with the ITR's. Good luck to RTR as well.

On behalf of the entire RealTime family, I want to thank you all for your kind words and prayers. We will all miss Jerry, but take comfort in the fact that he touched so many people. Jerry was instrumental to the success of everyone at RTR, Team-RTR, and RTL, as well as helped to raise the level of preparation and professionalism in the entire WC paddock.

Jerry lived life to its fullest and asked that everyone around him do the same. Work hard, play harder, and have no regreats.

As has been said in other places, it looks like god needed a new crew chief. He couldn't have found one better. But, Jerry is sitting up there with Senna, telling him that Pierre would wax him.

Thank you all,

Brian
