View Full Version : SOcal professional detail instruction?

I feel like I have hit a block in my detailing skill; I can tackle most problems, but I know there is more to be learned and professional instruction would be a great help in becoming a more experienced and efficient detailer. All that I know is self taught and from a beginners Meguiars class that I took a while back with a couple of the bf.c Z3 guys...

Are there any auto detailing classes that teach professional detailing technique, as opposed to the beginner's classes that are commonly taught? In the Socal area, of course, as I'd rather not have to drive a long way for class.

Or alternatively, are there any professional detailers in the SoCal area that would be willing to teach me some of what they know?

Most of the articles and instruction online is VERY helpful; autopia, bf.c detail section, and other websites have taught me a lot of what I know. But hands on instruction is something really valuable and online articles cannot replace what I learn there.

Any ideas? Thanks guys!

So what do you charge for a full detail? I have an M3 and a 300ZX that both need a good detail so I can sell them.

PM OctaneGuy on autopia.org. He is in the socal area and I have seen him post from time to time about how he will teach his clients.

How advanced are you and what do you need help with?

Awesome, I'll drop him a message.

I feel pretty confident with most detailing procedure, but it was all self-taught, and it would be nice to get a second opinion/some instruction from someone who is experienced in the industry. Mostly just small things/technique that sets a superb detail aside from an average job.
