I'm gonna be in the LA area for 2 weeks for work. First time in California, so what should I try to do and see while I'm here? What areas should I go to walk around/sightsee/eat/drink? I'll have a rental car with unlimited miles, so are there any good drives I should take?

Edit: Is there anywhere within a couple hours of LA to snowboard?
