Hey guys, I hear its a common prob with e36's for the power windows to go bad.

what i need to know is:

my passenger side window switch will only work for going up and it's a little bit each press of the button. when i close the passenger side door the window will go down a little bit. my guess is the motor works considering I can get it to go back up. Question is, do you think it's just the switch, or another issue also. I know the switch is bad, I took it apart and cleaned it. That got it working enough to roll the window back up, but can't get it to go down except when i open/close the passenger door.

suggestions?

When the regulator gets sticky the button will cause the window to go up. When it "sticks" the window will think it is jammed and will automatically roll down a bit.
