View Full Version : Someone should start a GB on intakes The-Great-328ic 07-21-2003, 03:48 PM I know the majority of the members have it already, but there are new members like myself who would like to buy it at a good price  NewM3er 07-21-2003, 05:58 PM I'm with ya on that one. Here is a link to info (note, the site is not functional yet in terms of checkout). Dunno if admin will approve of another GB from us. :dunno Link to Aluminum one-piece info (http://www.benferperformance.com/newsite/main.pl?sid=2365270960&page=pitem-bmw&product=BMW-E46-CAI) We want to work the price down to $220 or so. -BFP (dan@benferperformance.com) KaOTiKM3 07-25-2003, 08:16 AM I don't see why they would have a problem approving a group buy if it is organized by a BF.C member but through your company... MrChaos 07-25-2003, 10:47 AM I have a Benfer intake for sale (see sig) Someone buy it!! -A Loud_TIGER 07-25-2003, 11:58 AM hey mrchaos.. i want your intake, but where do i get the adapter for the stock air meter? Sbenfer - you got an stock intake adapter for sale ? BFP, Inc. 07-25-2003, 09:16 PM Ok, so who would be in for our 1-piece unit at $220 + $10 shipping? Originally posted by KaOTiKM3 I don't see why they would have a problem approving a group buy if it is organized by a BF.C member but through your company... Tiger, what year/model do you have? We have tons of adapters. -BFP (Dan) KaOTiKM3 07-25-2003, 10:57 PM hey Dan I am interested since I sold away the last one I bought from you but now I need one back...oh btw make sure you have one of the BF.C members organize this because you have to be a supporting vendor to start the GB yourself...but yea I'm down... The-Great-328ic 07-26-2003, 12:09 AM Im down with the intake too, The-Great-328ic 07-26-2003, 12:12 AM My bad, is your intake only for E46 or for E36 too ? Thanks BFP, Inc. 07-26-2003, 12:15 AM Doh! We only have the one-piece E46 intakes right now. The E36 ones are in production and will be done in about 3-4 weeks. We'll have a GB on those when they come in to get them out to you guys. -Dan Khoalty 07-26-2003, 12:29 AM I am down for one, are you guys going to come out with a carbon fiber version? Its time for a change of intake for me. I am kinda getting tired of my ECIS intake. I have more money now so I think it is time for an upgrade to bigger and better things. BFP, Inc. 07-26-2003, 05:53 PM Originally posted by Khoalty I am down for one, are you guys going to come out with a carbon fiber version? Its time for a change of intake for me. I am kinda getting tired of my ECIS intake. I have more money now so I think it is time for an upgrade to bigger and better things. We just got our prototype E36 one-piece aluminum intake in, and it looks hot. We had to have two versions made; one with a port for the pre-1996 cars, and one without a port for post-1996 cars (to be carb certified). When we get those in we'll probably have one GB to be fair to the E36 owners, and after that we will have some distribution channels set up - so we won't be able to undercut them with GB's. Will keep you updated! -BFP (Dan) outkastaliens 07-26-2003, 07:24 PM Sbenfer, why don't you just become a supporting vendor? that seems like the right thing to do. KaOTiKM3 07-26-2003, 07:47 PM you guys should make a limited run of CF E36 intakes for us BF.C guys :devillook OxfordM3 07-26-2003, 11:09 PM Would any of you be interested in an AA intake? I could call Rey up and see what he can do for us. Let me know how many would be interested. The AA exhaust is $349.....but we can see how much they will take off that. If you havent seen it go to www.aatuning.com and look at intakes. Loud_TIGER 07-26-2003, 11:13 PM dan (Sbenfer) u have pm.. The-Great-328ic 07-27-2003, 02:38 AM I am down for one, are you guys going to come out with a carbon fiber version? Its time for a change of intake for me. I am kinda getting tired of my ECIS intake. I have more money now so I think it is time for an upgrade to bigger and better things. I have a question :95 why are carbon fiber better than the aluminum intakes :alright By the way, I saw that the AA intake is at 349, :bawl what price do you think he will give us ? Thanks Khoalty 07-27-2003, 04:56 AM The Carbon Fiber ones release heat alot faster than the aluminum ones. I also like the look of CF more than aluminum. In the end they do the same job but the CF is just a little prettier and releases heat a tad faster. I hope Benfer will make a CF version and I would be the first to jump to get one. I just don't feel like forking out a gang of cash for the Dinan one when this one works the same or better. The-Great-328ic 07-27-2003, 09:04 PM Ok, hopefully Benfer or AA will make the Group Buy KaOTiKM3 07-28-2003, 08:14 AM I'd defnitely be down for a CF version, I don't even think Dinan makes a CF version anymore, they stopped production and make only an aluminum version now... BFP, Inc. 07-28-2003, 09:19 PM Originally posted by outkastaliens Sbenfer, why don't you just become a supporting vendor? that seems like the right thing to do. In process as we speak. :) Will update on the GB soon... -BFP (Dan) The-Great-328ic 07-29-2003, 02:12 AM Thanks dude !! NewM3er 07-30-2003, 05:14 PM Bump . . . BMW318iS 08-03-2003, 04:41 AM i need an intake BFP, Inc. 08-03-2003, 12:10 PM I'll be putting together some terms for an E46 intake group buy which should be up later tonight. We have someone from the boards who will be coordinating it with us. Our E36 one-piece intakes are being fabricated right now, so we can't do a GB on those until they are in our hands, so as I mentioned earlier, this will be an E46 only GB for the time being. This is the intake which the GB will be for... (http://www.benferperformance.com/newsite/main.pl?sid=5504365906&page=pitem-bmw&product=BMW-E46-CAI) -BFP (Dan) joyride 08-03-2003, 11:18 PM I will be interested in the CF version of the intake... lets get this GB started! :redspot BMW318iS 08-04-2003, 01:25 AM bah... i want intake for e36 KaOTiKM3 08-04-2003, 01:40 AM sorry guys I'm out, got the JC Carbon Fiber intake comin in...:redspot good luck with the GB... The-Great-328ic 08-04-2003, 02:18 AM I demand E36 intakes too NewM3er 08-04-2003, 08:30 AM I don't demand any . . . but I sure would like one! The-Great-328ic 08-05-2003, 01:27 AM :boobies me too Reck1ess 08-05-2003, 03:01 PM where's the e36 intakes? how does benfer intakes sound? is there a dyno done? The-Great-328ic 08-05-2003, 11:03 PM good question ! Reck1ess 08-06-2003, 02:20 PM benfer answer plz BFP, Inc. 08-06-2003, 02:29 PM Sorry 'bout that... Our one-piece intake sounds awesome. Maybe Khoa could post and let you know, but in my unbiased :devillook opinion, it is the best sounding intake on the market. It is civilized around town in that there is no "drone", but when you tap the throttle, your engine really growls back at you and lets you know it has some cajones. We haven't done an in-house dyno of the one-piece unit yet (Waiting on some parts for our CF units so we can do all of our intakes the same day), but Killer Junior on the E46fanatics.com board dynoed our three-piece intakes on his otherwise stock 2001 325i and got 8.5HP/11TRQ over baseline. Baseline was achieved during the same run, swapping the airbox for the CAI while the car was still on the dyno. I expect our one-piece units to achieve similar gains, if not better due to less turbulance across the MAF needle. We're so confident that you'll love the new sound and the increase in power that if you're ever unsatisfied with our intake - return it for a refund of the purchase price, no questions asked. -Dan Loud_TIGER 08-06-2003, 03:21 PM hey dan check your PM BMW318iS 08-06-2003, 08:08 PM Any news for when the e36 unit is being released? The-Great-328ic 08-06-2003, 08:36 PM not yet, hopefully Dan will have them on the market in a week or two. BFP, Inc. 08-06-2003, 10:47 PM I'll let you guys know when we'll have them. Working with these mandrel bending companies can be a real pain in the ass, or a really smooth process. The other thing is that for pre 1996 E36's (Like Khoa's), we have incorporated a port for the thermostatic sensor, which must be welded onto the tube. Most likely the post '96 intakes will be done first (couple of weeks) and the pre '96 units will follow. We have submitted one of each to CARB!!! -Dan Loud_TIGER 08-08-2003, 11:41 AM dan you got PM. please reply 95RogueM3 08-08-2003, 02:21 PM hey i know this seems to be more of a benfer posting but you guys were talking about the aa intake for e36s. You should go through www.mperformance.com jon caldito is a supporting vendor and he sells them on his site for 312..so i bet his price might be a little bit lower on a gb multi-purchase -Richard fffreshkope 08-08-2003, 05:33 PM i'm a pre-96. down for a carbon fiber intake. the shape of these are similar to dinan correct..? the intake reaches down into the front bumper..?? oh and can i get this with a cone filter,,? if not.. with no filter at all..?? much thanks. Still putting the buy together, will have by the end of the weekend... http://www.benferperformance.com/newsite/main.pl BTW, This GB will be for E46. The E36 intakes will have an identical GB to be fair. Those are expected to be in our hands in a few weeks. (Khoa convinced me to hook up all the loyal E36 customers when our E36 unit (like the one now on his car) officially rolls out... which didn't take much convincing  ) -Dan The-Great-328ic 08-18-2003, 11:43 PM bump. :boobies cheddafob 08-19-2003, 02:24 AM guys...trying to work out dinan CAI's for all e36's Will let you all know how it turns out Link: http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123557 BFP, Inc. 08-19-2003, 12:32 PM Hey guys, We wanted to wait and see if we could combine the group buy for E46 one-piece intakes with E36 one-piece intakes, which are promised to us by the 15th of next month. So we could do one of two things... 1) Have an E46 only GB now, THEN do an E36 only GB 2) Start the GB in about a week, make it last 3 weeks, at which time our E36 intakes should be in. This way E36 people can get in on the buy with a deposit, and pay in full when the intakes will ship. What do you guys think??? The price of these intakes will likely drop to around $220 with good participation. -Dan The-Great-328ic 08-20-2003, 02:20 AM I think that E 46 people should decide on this matter, E36 owners will have to wait anyhow |
