We were actually thinking of doing a GB for our one-piece aluminum intakes to get them out into the market. Here is a link to info (note, the site is not functional yet in terms of checkout). Dunno if admin will approve of another GB from us. :dunno

Doh! We only have the one-piece E46 intakes right now. The E36 ones are in production and will be done in about 3-4 weeks. We'll have a GB on those when they come in to get them out to you guys.

I am down for one, are you guys going to come out with a carbon fiber version? Its time for a change of intake for me. I am kinda getting tired of my ECIS intake. I have more money now so I think it is time for an upgrade to bigger and better things.

We just got our prototype E36 one-piece aluminum intake in, and it looks hot. We had to have two versions made; one with a port for the pre-1996 cars, and one without a port for post-1996 cars (to be carb certified).

When we get those in we'll probably have one GB to be fair to the E36 owners, and after that we will have some distribution channels set up - so we won't be able to undercut them with GB's.

The Carbon Fiber ones release heat alot faster than the aluminum ones. I also like the look of CF more than aluminum.
In the end they do the same job but the CF is just a little prettier and releases heat a tad faster. I hope Benfer will make a CF version and I would be the first to jump to get one. I just don't feel like forking out a gang of cash for the Dinan one when this one works the same or better.

Ok, hopefully Benfer or AA will make the Group Buy

I'd defnitely be down for a CF version, I don't even think Dinan makes a CF version anymore, they stopped production and make only an aluminum version now...

I'll be putting together some terms for an E46 intake group buy which should be up later tonight. We have someone from the boards who will be coordinating it with us. Our E36 one-piece intakes are being fabricated right now, so we can't do a GB on those until they are in our hands, so as I mentioned earlier, this will be an E46 only GB for the time being.

Our one-piece intake sounds awesome. Maybe Khoa could post and let you know, but in my unbiased :devillook opinion, it is the best sounding intake on the market. It is civilized around town in that there is no "drone", but when you tap the throttle, your engine really growls back at you and lets you know it has some cajones.

We haven't done an in-house dyno of the one-piece unit yet (Waiting on some parts for our CF units so we can do all of our intakes the same day), but Killer Junior on the E46fanatics.com board dynoed our three-piece intakes on his otherwise stock 2001 325i and got 8.5HP/11TRQ over baseline. Baseline was achieved during the same run, swapping the airbox for the CAI while the car was still on the dyno.

I expect our one-piece units to achieve similar gains, if not better due to less turbulance across the MAF needle.

We're so confident that you'll love the new sound and the increase in power that if you're ever unsatisfied with our intake - return it for a refund of the purchase price, no questions asked.

Any news for when the e36 unit is being released?

not yet, hopefully Dan will have them on the market in a week or two.

I'll let you guys know when we'll have them. Working with these mandrel bending companies can be a real pain in the ass, or a really smooth process. The other thing is that for pre 1996 E36's (Like Khoa's), we have incorporated a port for the thermostatic sensor, which must be welded onto the tube. Most likely the post '96 intakes will be done first (couple of weeks) and the pre '96 units will follow. We have submitted one of each to CARB!!!

hey i know this seems to be more of a benfer posting but you guys were talking about the aa intake for e36s. You should go through www.mperformance.com jon caldito is a supporting vendor and he sells them on his site for 312..so i bet his price might be a little bit lower on a gb multi-purchase

BTW, This GB will be for E46. The E36 intakes will have an identical GB to be fair. Those are expected to be in our hands in a few weeks. (Khoa convinced me to hook up all the loyal E36 customers when our E36 unit (like the one now on his car) officially rolls out... which didn't take much convincing :cool: )

Hey guys,

We wanted to wait and see if we could combine the group buy for E46 one-piece intakes with E36 one-piece intakes, which are promised to us by the 15th of next month. So we could do one of two things...

1) Have an E46 only GB now, THEN do an E36 only GB

2) Start the GB in about a week, make it last 3 weeks, at which time our E36 intakes should be in. This way E36 people can get in on the buy with a deposit, and pay in full when the intakes will ship.

What do you guys think??? The price of these intakes will likely drop to around $220 with good participation.

I think that E 46 people should decide on this matter, E36 owners will have to wait anyhow
