im inbetween these 3...
i just cant decide...
all of them are nice.
but which one do you think would look the best on a alpine white e36?
all 18"/8.5"
ps- all replicas

1 - acs type III racing

First off, the first ones aren't authentic ACS wheels. Then again looking at all of those wheels, they're all replica's aren't they?

Any how, I would vote for the m-parallels, not parrarel

this is the "real" replicas that ill be purchasing.
those pictures i just used for better reference since they are bigger.
Preppy i know that the parallels will look good on my car but i also know that the ACS will asswell thats why its such a hard decision for me...:( by any chance would you have a pic of a white e36 with both wheels on?

untill now the score is the following(results from dtm pwr too):

M Parallels - | | | | | | | | | | | | = 12 votes

ACS T. III - | | | | | | | = 7 votes

im thinking its gonna be parallels... i was almost decided to choose ACS since i always loved the style of their products but the m parallels are going to look good.

the first picture of your car definitely looks the best, although that might be because the rims look like 19's in the picture.

i would go the acs replicas. never been a fan of parallels.

Between those 3, go with the M-Parallels, the other two shouldn't even be in question. :)

Yo man let me tell ya something...it depends on what kinda look your going for...But if your goin for the stylin look go for the ACS. The rest are good too, but the ACS sure look like an eye catcher man!

I was contemplating M parallels too, they look great and are easy to keep clean. I am now considering between these two as well for my car- Both are 17x8.5, and the Breyton's even come in a 17x9.5 for the rear!

1. Breyton Inspiration
<img src="http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheels/breyton/swap/brey_inspiration_ci3_l.jpg">

2. BBS RA
<img src="http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheels/bbs/swap/bbs_ra_ci3_l.jpg">

What I REALLY want to know is, what size freaking tire to go with an 8.5" wide rim?
Some say 235/40/17 will fit, other say it will rub.
Perhaps 225/45/17????
My ride is lowered 1" all around, M3 springs / bilstien sports.
Any opinions on correct tire sizes Jim?

dude 235 40 17 is on my 17" by 7.5" LTW rimz right now...
and between those two i would stick with BBS...
the breytons will look smaller than they are...

drivingmachine-
thanks for the input, and I kinda had the same thoughts about the breyton's looking smaller. The polished lip is still a nice touch on them though, versus the BBS forward-mounted spokes.
The BBS's will certainly look bigger........ man tough decisions!
If everyone around my part of town didn't have M parallels I would just get them and be done with it!

Since you have 235/40's how much fender clearance do you have?
I think the fitment issue is because the BBS and Breyton rim is 8.5.... I really don't know because I keep getting different tire places telling me different stories.
Good luck with your car and can't wait to see pics!

BTW, who are you getting your M parallels from and what type of rubber you throwing on them?

more pics of the breyton's:
These are 19" rims in the pics

I just want to say that we can all sit here and advise you all day while you take score but this is YOUR CAR and not ours so do what YOU think looks the best. Everyone has different opinions so be yourself and get the wheels you enjoy the most.

I just got a set of M Parallels. Do the 18 X 8 replicas go right on. I knew I couldn't get the real 7 series wheels because of the offset but do the replicas go right on without any serious fender rolling or rubbing.

Will the parallels work on a '97 M3/4 ?? I thought I had read before about some fitment issues for some people, and others have said they fit fine???

OH yeah. MY VOTE ..... M Parallels !! :)

drivingmachine
08-07-2003, 12:45 AM
dude i dont know in first hand about rubbing issues since i havnt received them yet... and i already cancled the order and made a new order... 19" ACS type III racing.. 18s are too small...hehe
anyways i spoke with a few people and they all said there is no problem with running 235-40-18s... it just might rubb the rear.. and just roll the rear fenders and your all set....
im going to try 235-35-19s. and as soon as i get the rimz up ill do a write up on modifications necessary to run them....
