Will be in Boston the last two weeks of Feb for training and a few of us (6-10) are planning on going skiing/snowboarding the weekend in between. We're looking at Killington, VT as that was suggested by a group that went before us.

Anyone here have some recommendations/advice? Right now we are looking for a place to stay...Any place to stay away from? Nightlife? Restaurants? Lift deals?

Basically if you have information that could help us, I don't mind hearing about.

I am up at Killington every weeked as I rent a house for the season with friends.

Your best bet is to go through a ski and stay package where you aren't sure your exact numbers. Also, don't forget that February vacation for schools up here is the week of the 16th. The weekend of the 21st and 22nd will be pretty packed.

If you decide to rent a condo (there are plenty of open rentals) for the weekends, then check out purchasing an express pass as they sometimes run specials.

The nightlife at Killington is pretty much the best in the east. I recommend that you stop by the Long Trail Brewing Co. for pub food and some pitchers. Also, at night the hot spots are the Pickle Barrel, Wobbly Barn & Outback. The Lookout is also good for apres ski beers.

Killington is definitely a great place to spend time... Probably the priciest in the east, but there is definitely more to do there than other mountains... Skiing itself is usually top 10 in the east, but the nightlife is #1...

If you are hardcore skiers I'd go elsewhere to A. Save money and B. avoid crowds, but if you are looking for the full experience you can't beat killington.

For cheap good pizza stop at Pizza Jerks, most everything on the access road is quite expensive, the Fat Italian also makes great lunch and breakfast sandwiches if you're on the run.

We'll actually be there the weekend of Feb 13...so it looks like we will just miss the rush.

Found Cascades Lodge using that site...know anything about that place? Is it near the good places to be at?

Hardcore skiers we are not...it'll be funny as this will be our first time skiing...at least for most of us. Killington sounds like to place to be since we are looking more for stuff to do at night.

In VT I would say Stratton, in NH i would say Loon, and in ME I would say Sunday River, they're all really good though, the most well maintained is Stratton, but you also need to take a special park safety course before entering the park itself.
