Anyone have any experience with these tires for moderate/aggressive street use? What about wet handling?

I have a set and love'em. I don't track the car, but drive aggressiely. They are predictable, handle well wet/dry, quiet and look good ta boot.

How is the treadlife? With the summer daily rains here in FL, I want something that won't send me hydroplaning, yet will grip the hell out of hot asphalt.

I got 6k out of my rears and they need replacement. I drive hard, but not excessively so - no driveline abuse.

Fronts are fine, so figure 6 tires/set - 2 sets of rears. Stick is fine, I'm just disappointed with the wear.

I've had my rears on since end of April. I drift, play and you know the usual......they look almost brand new. I drive approximately 60 mi everyday........Go see Manny at the Discount Tire on OBT and he'll tell you how they work.....

I have a set on my 16" wheels (not currently on the car). I ran them for about 4 months, and they do wear fast. I drove moderately, with occasional aggressive cornering, and the shoulders were quite chewed up after less than 2000 miles. The tread depth had noticeably decreased as well. Nevertheless, they were reasonably priced and had great dry handling. In the wet they were safe and stuck fine. No hydroplaning that I noticed.

Thanks for the input, but could you give me some better detail on Manny at DT on OBT? That's one long stretch of road! lol

6k on new tires and you don't drive hard. Something doesn't add up.

Yeah need a real review. I'm looking at these for my next tires. I like the SO3s i have but i need something i can get a few more miles out of.

I currently have them on my car 235/40ZR/18. I can say these are the best bang for the buck. Just picture, I am driving at over 120mph and it feel like I am only going 60mph. Of course, I only do it here and there driving like a speed demon.

I highly recomment them, very good all purpose use. Wet/Dry doesn't matter handle the same. These are my second set. The first was 235/40ZR/17.

Good to hear. As of now i have 225/40/18 SO3s and that's about as wide as i can go with them. Could you do me a favor and measure the width of your 235s so i can compare them to my SO3s? Let me know.

I am going to see about ordering them and having them drop-shipped at my tire/wheel guy. Thanks!

Nice choice. You'll be happy w/ them.

I test drove them after having the S-O3's on and I love them.

They -definately- have a softer sidewall than the S-03's though, if you are looking for all out performance and sure-footedness I wouldn't get these...but they are very fun...

The Es100's are predictable...and playfully squishy when you push them. They are extremely quite and pleasant riding.......after having the S-03's I will be picking up a set shortly....

i've put maybe 1500 miles on my 17's and noticed that under hard cornering the sidewalls are pretty squishy. They don't feel as stiff as I would like. most people dig them though

What series tire did you have?

They're more than adequate for street use. I track and autocross mine pretty regularly and they hold up just fine. After 7-8k of street use, about 60-70 autocross runs and 3 track weekends I still have about 50-70% tread(hard to tell without a depth guage).

I'll be going to Kumho MX next time for a bit more grip though.

Have you replaced your RTABs? When they go bad, the tires move side to side (kinda), which "sands" the tread down... Ask me how I know:(

I just installed a set of ES100's and I really like them. I don't mean to sound like a ricer, but they look very nice. I like the boxy sidewalls and the tread design. The tires are VERY quiet, I've heard that they get noisy as they age, but for now I can't tell that I'm driving (except for the buzzy roar of the S14! :) ). The tires seem to have softer sidewalls than my old Toyo T1-S tires, they are definately squishy, which is probably just because they are new tires and have lots of rubber on them. I just hope they last quite a while.

What would everyone reccommend for a tire pressure? I'm running about 37 psi right now.
