View Full Version : Did anyone check out the e36 M3/4 for $5400 on Craigslist NH?
giantrobot9000 01-10-2009, 05:16 PM Saw an ad for a silver 98 M3 sedan on NH craigslist this past week. The price is what really caught my attention-$5400. It's even a manual! The mileage was kinda high (170k or so), but if it's in good shape, who cares! Did anyone check it out?
p0cket penguins 01-10-2009, 06:21 PM someone buy it and sell the engine to me

tb0ne 01-10-2009, 07:57 PM I haven't seen an E36 M3 for sale that wasn't automatic or a complete toilet in a while.
///M3Augy 01-10-2009, 07:57 PM I bet it's a rust bucket.
M-technik-3 01-10-2009, 08:11 PM That price it must need a Vanos replacement. And it's rusty we know N.H.
tb0ne 01-10-2009, 08:12 PM That price seems about right for a 10 year old M3 with 170k :dunno
Is that really a good price?
///M3Augy 01-10-2009, 08:22 PM It's quite cheap, even for them mileage; I also don't know anything of the history and what the underside looks like so I could be way off...

That's pretty cheap if it's not a rat. A nice one with high mileage is still usually at least $6500-7000 or better. I haven't seen many good cars under $7k, honestly.
nflea7 01-10-2009, 11:45 PM Its a dealer they got it at auction, you need an extensive work up and diagnostics to find out what truly is wrong with the M3, they never give auction cars a good inspection, god only knows what's wrong with it, but I bet they don't
greenleaf 01-11-2009, 12:21 AM that is high. i've seen a bunch of E36 M3s down here in providence for about $1k more with about 30-50k less miles.
ma325e 01-11-2009, 09:41 AM i went and looked at it its not bad
Sam 330ci 01-11-2009, 12:22 PM might be salvage?
tb0ne 01-11-2009, 01:01 PM I really doubt there's anything wrong with it, except it's a 98 with 170k. They probably bought it at auction for 3k and are trying to make a couple grand on it. E36 M3's aren't worth much anymore especially in this economy.
Sam 330ci 01-11-2009, 01:33 PM perhaps sometimes we forget that WE are the only ones stupid enough to see a 10 year old german supercar with 170,000 miles and think that, even for pennies, it's a "smart decision"

+1

M-technik-3 01-14-2009, 07:24 PM So who busted out there $$ for it?
VenomRS4 01-17-2009, 10:50 PM They still have it. Im goin up tommorrow or monday with cash in hand to see it. Its just not on the lot right now because its getting a new steering rack and a couple other odds and ends. If it truely is nice like they say it is....its as good as mine.

Don't even think about paying asking price for it....
