Coming home from the store today, a cop turned down my street in front of me with his lights and sirens on. I looked up my street and there was a car on fire at the end of the road. I didn't get close enough til the fire was out, but it was shooting some pretty good flames out of the hood.

Looks like there was some sort of accident with the M3 and the Charger/Magnum, although I didn't see too much body damage. The M3's air bag did deploy. Its a one lane, divided street with no intersections near the crash, so I'm pretty confused about what actually happened. Looked like no injuries but still hope it wasn't anyone from here.

This was on Aberdeen Ave in Cambridge.

can't drive bmws in the winter? are you serious?

:shifty:shifty:shifty

what's the point of even having such a fragile car?

if i had a b7, i'd rock that every season, every year, every condition. every day, including federal holidays.

posts like this make me wonder who drives bmws :eyecrazy

M3 has an oil temp gauge as well as a coolant temp gauge, no mpg gauge... the oil in the M3 is pretty thick so its best to know that its warmed up before you start pushing the engine... my coolant warms up with in 5 minutes of starting and driving the car... the oil temp takes 20-30 minutes before its fully warmed up in my car in the winter...

What now? Why wouldnt you drive a BMW in the winter? Its not a Ferrari... Its only a car, and none are particularly rare... you think BMWs arent driven in Germany in the winter?

Modern BMWs are really well rustproofed in comparison to older ones. Road salt really affects older cars to the point that a pristine car can be made into a hoary rustbucket in a few winters.
