Hi. I have a question for any 2007 X5 owners. I have an opportunity to purchase a used X5 and I'd like a little feedback.
The X5 is a 2007 with less than 4k miles. It is a 3.0 with the Premium package, Sport package, Cold Weather package and premium sound. The car is literally only used locally on weekends. I can buy it for 40K.
The car is always garaged and looks like it just rolled out of the showroom. It has no issues, and obviously still under factory warranty.
I have a 2006 3-series sedan which I love, but I have been looking for 2nd car.
So i'd appreciate any feedback that you guy's could give me about the car.
So thanks in advance and have a great New Year.

while i have a '08 4.8, i would say that sounds like a good buy. have you driven it? the only issue so to speak that i am aware of is some throttle hesitation with the 3.0 reported on a few of the forums. otherwise, the typical BMW stuff.
check here for research WWW.X5world.com (http://www.X5world.com)
i DD my 08 and have about 20k on mine. i like the truck a great deal.

Thanks for the referral to the X5 World Website.
Yes, I have driven the X5 and rides as expected. I like the stiffness/tightness that the sport package provides. I am used to that ride since my 3-series also has the sport suspension.

My wife likes our 2008 X5 4.8i with sport package and I find it pretty good for a truck. If power does not really matter to you, a 3.0 is adequate.
What would it cost you to build that car new? $50k? Is a 20% discount for a 2 year old car a great deal or an average deal? These will start popping up on lease returns soon with CPO extended warranty coverage to 100k and 6 years for the same money, versus the 2 years remaining you would get with this one.
If it was $32k, I would be more excited.

To build the same car the MSRP would be 58K. I don't know how much they are discounting it these days. So lets say I could buy it for 56K. So the difference would be 16K. Oh, and lets not forget the additional sales tax on the 16K which comes out to roughly $1400.00. So now the difference becomes $17400.00
So the 56K is 40% more than the 40K.

I'd buy it. No worries about the price as it is just going to depreciate anyway. If price is a concern buy an 04 or 05. these things last forever.

You should get more than a $2k discount off list; I got $2k a year ago and you can definitely get more today. I am pretty sure I have read of people getting $5k off.
When coming up with percentage differences, you can make the percentage higher by calculating it off the smaller number or lower by calculating it off the larger number.
To me, your deal is not a bad one, but it is also not an exceptional one. If you want to make yourself feel even better, factor in registration and insurance costs on the 2 year old car versus the new one. Your savings will then be even higher . . . .

yeah the numbers thing is a favorite interest of mine. There are so many people that were so happy at how big a percentage their houses were going up and yet are still ok that it hasn't fallen by that percentage.
even though the actual dollars are alot less than what they had actually gained...
I love this kind of thinking. they are happy as they FEEL they have gained on their house. I am happy cause I can now buy it for less than they paid!!
crazy world. btw the savings will be even high for ins and reg with an 04/05!!!

FYI buying a new 2008 3.0Si that listed for just under 59K (really loaded without sport) for $52800. Use that as a reference and BTW 0.9% financing!!
