My father would like to get more juice out of his 2002 4.4 x5. He's looking for basic upgrades that would make the car more responsive & faster without having to open-up the engine, such as:

ECU remap/reflash
TCU upgrades
Heightened throttle response
Speed limiter elimination
Headers with CAT (to pass MOT)
I am not a BMW owner and don't know a lot about the their tuning companies (besides the obvious ones). Please share with me your recommendations. Here are my findings:

Offers a ECU remap boosting the car upto 235 kW (315 hp) and 480 N·m (356 ft·lbf). This sounds as rewarding as Dinan's S1 $4.5k package while costing just a friction of Dinan's price.

ESS-Tuning:
Offeres a 6psi supercharger kit with a 400hp output for $7,250. Comparable to the Dinan's S2 price tag, looks like good bang for the buck but FI isn't ideal for warm weather
