I am just curious if anyone with an X3 has had a water leak on the passenger side during heavy rain. This is the second time in 6 months it has happened and have taken it to the dealer to repair.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I had leaks in my 04 when I would take it thru the car wash, after going to the dealer a few times, they finally tracked it down to the vapor barrier behind the door panel had come disconnected from the door itself. So you might have them look there, or possibly it could be related to the moonroof.

Thanks. I was told it was the moonroof contributed as well as the seal around the passenger side.

This is an on going problem with X3's. I had water coming into, and they said it was the vapor barrier too. I had them fix it, and I still got water in. Next they clean out the moon roof gutters. And I still got water in. This time they said it was coming in from my back window, since it was not install right(so one got mad at me broke my window) so the dealer wanted $900 to fix it. F-that. Right now I'm not getting any water. I found out my problem is the way I park. If I park with the front end on a down angle I get water in. Our X3 has had this problem 3 times. Front passenger footwell water accumulation. The first two times, the dealer replaced the sunroof cassette. The third time, the dealer stated that the drain holes were plugged.
We experienced the problem when the car was parked facing downhill.
