Iamnotkento 12-27-2008, 11:58 AM hmm check your battery and charge it. It might be weak.
ah1wcobra 12-27-2008, 12:20 PM imo, anyone who is having to leave a 850 outside in subzero temps should look into some sort of block heater.dipstick inserts are probably the easiest, the most effective type are coolant heaters, the good ones have a circulation pump and install in the heater coolant circuit.given the tight space back there it would take some patience but the heater component is compact and once installed will keep the entire system warm enough to start even in the coldest temps.
prit singh 12-27-2008, 04:40 PM I haven't started mine in a few days, I'm hopeing it does start tommorow!
It would be best to take out both batteries and replace or trickle charge.
For nearly a year I have been jump starting mine due to lack of use and trust me I have realised these cars should not really be jump started.
CarolinaCi 12-28-2008, 02:54 PM I was having starting problems about 6 years ago and it was driving me crazy - And even though I consider myself fairly intelligent, I didn't realize that there was another battery on the otherside of the trunk. Once I addressed that, all was good. But seriously, battery issues can seem like something else, but really are just battery related. Good luck.
KinceK 12-28-2008, 03:11 PM In my opinion it's not battery related. I would rather check the fuel pumps, when You turn on ignition, do You hear them working? If not, check them, check the fuel pump transmitter and the fuses.

Dead/old batteries that either don't have sufficient charge, or won't hold sufficient charge.
Quiet Storm2 01-11-2009, 10:01 AM its seems exactly that TxGR8White: what batteries would you recommend for the 850i uk version?
thanks
rcrad6653 01-11-2009, 10:20 AM Tx will recommend the Interstate MTP-93 all day and night. Good batteries for sure but there are good alternatives as well. Not sure of UK availability though. I use Bosch 850 CCA units, flawless thus far. If you do a forum search about batteries you will find out a lot. There will be the issue of hooking up the vent tubes, the non-threaded holes for the hold downs, resetting radio code, slow charge out of the car before install, getting a good (Ctek) charger for continued maintenance...yaddayaddayadda........
