Hey all,
Got a 2000 e39 eurospec 540i with the luxury package. Would like to lower the stock suspension in the front by about 3/4 to 1in. Any suggestions that are inexpensive?

Spring/Shock combo would be the cheapest...

No sweat. I think I may try and cut the springs at this point in time. I'm pouring a bunch of $$ into my M3 right now, so anything I can save would be good. Would cutting the springs (only in the front, and only to lower the car by 0.5 to 1") mess up the handling at all?

How does one cut a spring correctly?:confused
OEM BMW Springs don't have dead coils (extra coils that are flat top and bottom) so...:help

On second thought, I may just wait... Eventually I'll be ready to upgrade the suspension but for now I need to focus my deutschmarks on the M3 :buttrock
Thanks for all your help and input.
