is there any method for synchronizing the windows?i had the batterys disconnected for a few days and now the passenger side is open about an inch and wont close completely.it functions properly going up and down just wont close all the way.on my benz they use halls effect generators to measure travel of windows, seats and alot of other stuff.there is a synch process to get everything back in tune.same on the 850 or do i have other issues?

I had a similar issue on mine after changing the batterys with the drivers window half open. After touching the door handle a couple of times to drop the glass and operating the switches it sort of got better by its self.
Someone will be along soon with the proper method but im sure you aint got other issues.
Merry Christmas, regards Luke.

If it works like the e46, then its all the way up until you hear a click. Then all the way down until you hear a click. Repeat the routine twice and it should work.

Yeah, that's it.
Same on my E36 and just did it yesterday on the 8.
Also do it to the sunroof.

My drivers side window was working and then it stopped. And i recently tried it and i had to push the up arrow for it to go down and the down arrow for it to go up. A bit weird!

Very weird indeed. Check window fuses.

Windows are controlled through the relay module (drivers sill). Synch by rolling down all the way and holding switch until you hear several "clicks", then rool up and hold switch until you hear several clicks.
I had to replace the Relay Module ( took a hit in the electrical fire) and evrything works fine.

ill try the up and down stuff again,it functions normal with the exception of the up travel, stops an inch short and the slight drop function when you open the door isnt there.we bought another home in the high deserts,im driving it two hundred cold miles tomorrow and would sure like the window to close, the heater core is bypassed!.finally this car gets a garage to be pampered in.so long san diego,to many people for me!:redspot

I had to replace the Relay Module ( took a hit in the electrical fire) and evrything works fine.tried the up and down and holding switch depressed to get clicks and cant get any clicks from any of the windows.it is simply down an inch on the passenger side and wont close completely.it is slightly below the auto drop feature.where is the door switch that turns on interior lights and initiates window drop?.i noticed that when you open the passenger door that there is no courtesy light function, mayby the door proximity switch is bad?

when i replaced the caps in the general module i managed to break a foil/trace when r&r the large cap.if you do the general module diy project be really careful when removing the large cap the traces are really close to the large pad on one end of the cap.i simply ran a small guage wire from point to point "haywire" and all is well.
