Anything specific I need to know before I take on this task? I know I should disconnect the batteries. Is the replacement straight forward? I appreciate all the help and words of advice, TYIA!
Cheers,

If your wheel has an airbag (which it should for a '95 car), it's highly recommended to disconnect the batteries.
The replacement is straightforward if both wheels use the same slip ring. Otherwhise, pay a visit to this thread: M Technic 2 Steering Wheel (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1051474).
