I know the guys at the M5 forums did a GB on the lidatek laser diffuser last year for around $350.... I would be interested in purchasing this unit. Not a bad price fo $350-375 if we could do it.

I heard there might be a new model coming out soon. the LE-30 or something like that. That's what the Hawaii distributor told me.

MSRP is $349.99 as per the http://www.lidatek.com website. Wouldn't you want it cheaper than that??

Just FYI, there is a good review at http://www.audiworld.com/news/03/lidatek/

i've seen this on bmwm5 as well
any testimonials here on the effectiveness? experiences, anybody? or are they like those stickers you stick on your cell phones to increase reception? :D

and aren't these highly illegal, James?

I don't think KS uses laser too much, I've been 'instant-on-k-banded' a few times here though.

but despite all that I am still interested

According to the website.
"The LE-20 is legal in every state except California, Utah, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Virginia, Nebraska, and Washington, D.C."

As for the effectivness, there are some very convincing reviews.

I would be interested in a group buy, depending on the price.

Have any of the vendors thought of doing this?

Aren't these things easily stolen/broken? I'd love to get one, but screwing a $350 device to the front bumper seems a bit unwise . . . to say the least.

Nevermind, just went to the site - its not a license plate frame system. I'm down!

The links in the posts above provide some good info and tests on the Lidatek system. And, they give it some good reviews. So, I guess it does work.

If anyone's interested i have a brand new Lidatek le-20 still sitting in the box. I bought the one with two transponders. I was going to use one for the front and one for the rear. I dont really drive the car much so i never had the chance to install it. I paid $450 for it. Just looking to recover as much as i can. Email me if you need pics of it. I will take some tonight

Thanks

Here's a pic of it. It's still in the original wrapping.

The two boxes. The one on the left is the extra transponder.
