Dans528e 12-21-2008, 07:54 PM I wont have the cash for another month or so and even then i dont have space to keep it here. whoever gets it needs to have driveway space lol. Since you live in holliston do you know anyone in the area that does fuses for our cars? My rear defroster fuse and heater fuse and horn relay all blew! It sucks right now adstock 12-21-2008, 08:04 PM I wont have the cash for another month or so and even then i dont have space to keep it here. whoever gets it needs to have driveway space lol. Since you live in holliston do you know anyone in the area that does fuses for our cars? My rear defroster fuse and heater fuse and horn relay all blew! It sucks right now I actually live in framingham and holliston! But no, I dont know anyone, i bought the car about a month ago and i think i need the defroster and heater fuses are working either, i might actually need a heater control valve. Let me know if you find someone. Actually thinking of it, i think i may have seen you driving around like 2 months ago, I was on 126 and you were getting on to it, i was in my alpine white e36 m3 going towards rt9 from downtown framingham. Thats the only other e28 ive seen around the area. If you see a royalblau e28 cruising around the area, its probably me. PixMan 12-21-2008, 08:13 PM I could probably use a few bits from it too. How's the dash on it? Ours (my son's, actually) has a crack, as most do. Not too much under the hood compatible with a 535i, but there may be some stuff we're willing to buy, such as a cruise control Bowden cable. His driver's side passenger door could use replacement, and the rear window defroster isn't working. His heater is intermittent too, but I think that's the big resistor pack that one has to remove the entire dash and heater duct work to change. Maybe we could use that car for practice in changing one? I could chip in on it for that privilege. Oops, looks like the drivers side rear door is spoken-for. Other than that, we're interested. Dans528e 12-21-2008, 08:15 PM Yea I can actually see that the fuse is blown. My car isnt even blowing air right now so i'm pretty sure thats whats wrong. PixMan 12-21-2008, 08:38 PM The heater control valves on these can be repaired in 5 minutes with a $26 kit. Call my pal Steve Haygood in GA for the parts: 706-647-0302. Fuses are readily available at almost any auto parts store, such as Autozone. What causes the fuse to blow isn't so easy. On my son's 535i, the fuse is fine, the switch is fine, it really appears to be that hard-to-get-to resistor pack. It's got 192,000 miles on it, there's a chance that's "done resisting". adstock 12-21-2008, 08:43 PM The heater control valves on these can be repaired in 5 minutes with a $26 kit. I was just going to delete the valve and buy one from a hardware store or something. Dans528e 12-21-2008, 08:49 PM I'm gunna try the fuses first and see if that fixes the problem. prob try and run down there after work at 6..although anyone who lives in framingham/holliston will know that is hell driving through framingham center. I'm ordering my shocks from haygood in a month or so PixMan 12-21-2008, 08:51 PM I was just going to delete the valve and buy one from a hardware store or something. More trouble than it's worth, probably. I bought the kit, slapped in in just a couple of minutes and everything was working fine for two years. Now it's just working whenever you don't need it worst. I don't know if you're familiar with it, but your best resource for the E28's is http://www.mye28.com |
