Yes, that is the color. Its actually written out on the shock tower in the engine bay. How many do you think made it to America and how many do you think is left?

There is at least one less than were originally done in Laguna Green.

The first 850 I test drove was a Laguna that had been repainted in Ford Probe Purple. Poorly repainted I might add. I have no idea where the car ended up.

I see we like the same cars, few months ago i sold W126 300SE and bought CL420. W126 is very good car just like energizer batteries, it's going and going. It was one of my favorites.

Being a car nut I envy your garage space. Had to sell my 63 MBZ cabriolet in order to make space for my recent 8 purchase.

to be honest the car has had a dishonorable past, the guy I baught it from can't be trusted with it's history.

I now beleive it only has a body kit and wide wheels.

Dave.... with all due respect, a supercharger is pretty hard to hide, it's there or it isn't. The blower and custom belt alone are dead giveaways...:thumbup:

The guy sold it me as is,no supercharger,he never told me it had one,
But he did tell me it had a KS CHIPP+a 12% diff. He also said koenig had the car for 3 months doing the mods.
in the youtube vid he claims it's a 6 ltr supercharged. he's just a liar.

That's a very interesting point Harry, about Walther. Of course he is the most qualified to say and I guess it's correct in the truest sense. Dave has the special unique body parts so it's a KS8. Is it 'more' a KS8 if a given car has every single feature that Mr. Koenig offered for the E31? Much more desirable and valuable yes, but in the strictest sense no. Alpina marketed differently, having special VINs for their cars, anything else is a clone. Even if you got hold of a real hood, wheels, and front bumper and duplicated the interior details it wouldn't be an Alpina. The Dinan point system comes to mind. For those interested and who aspired to it, a car became a 'Dinan 8' only when the documented points had been earned by spending ever increasing amounts of money to get the badge.

My dealers parts-specialist - a real smart guy - first refused to order anything from Alpina, because of this behavior.

Hope Alpina will be ever lasting!
For me it´s not a problem to drive a normal E31 with Alpina-parts, just because I love that discreet and powerful look - at 2nd sight - and because I don´t need these badges and stripes...

I was gutted when there was no history at koenig. the car could have been worth 4 times more than I paid for it. It's nice to get a good deal.
