My friend, who has a civic, got some subs put in by a friend about 6 months ago. Well they stopped working so I took a look at them. The guy did one of the crappiest installations I have ever seen. He wired switches with duct tape, wrapped wires here and there...it was bad. I decided to clean things up and make them stronger. Well, the way these things are wired there is a switch that turns them on and off. It is major ghetto. I replaced the switch with one that has a light, BUT the light won't work. One part of the switch is for the load (from my power source), one is more the lead (where it is going...the sub), and the last is for a neutral which I assumed was a ground. I wired everything and flipped the switch..the subs turned on but the light didn't. Does anyone know why. In my earlier explanation was anything wrong? Is neutral something other than ground? Could I just have a bad switch light?

rewire the switch... it may still work when the wires are in the wrong location

Any particular reason you're using a 24v potential difference?

I'm pretty sure that I have the wires connected right. There was a diagram on the outside of the box that showed what was what. I did try to switch where the wires were but that didn't help. Maybe I just have a defective switch.
