View Full Version : Good Stereo installation place in lower NY? JD 98 ///M3 07-14-2003, 03:12 PM I have an E36 M3. I want to upgrade the front speakers and tweeters with some MB quarts. Does anyone know any places that does a lot of work on BMW's? Good Installation places? G.J. Dixon 07-14-2003, 10:39 PM Either, System Dynamics or Mobile Extreme Both located in Westchester County ClintonM3 07-15-2003, 01:11 PM I second Mobile Extreme. They did my V1,K40 set up, very knowledgeable, very professional. Main drawback, they are not a dealer for many different brands, so they don't have a lot of product in stock. They can get it for you, they will install it perfectly, but you just have to call in advance for them to order it. They are located in Westchester, in Elmsford. Sound Concept in Bedford Hills, NY is also another one I would recommend. JD 98 ///M3 07-15-2003, 04:30 PM Thanks for all the help. Im actually from Westchester (scarsdale) but I go to grad school out in AZ and Im in NY for the summer working. I think Im going to try mobile extreme. JuBu 07-15-2003, 09:58 PM Do you guys recommend them for an Alpine stereo install??? I don't mind going to Westchester...Are they fair in their pricing?? Thanks, Justin ClintonM3 07-16-2003, 12:56 AM Sound Cocept is an Alpine dealer, they know and live for alpine. They used to have a Alpine/Pheonix gold demo 5 series that won tons of awards up and down the eastcoast. And they are very fair on pricing. I got my headunit for $50 less than Crutchfield, installed, no tax (i paid cash, if you know what i mean). Just to show you what they can do on pricing, i was quoted recently for $3700 installed of Alpine newest DVd mobile media, IVAD900, and Alpine's navi. If it were to be done in Circuit city or Tweeters, it would cost me around 4500. Eventhough they are a dealer and have inventory, they do such a huge amount of business, your best bet is to call in and make sure they have it in stock, or they can get it for you. My entire car's audio setup is installed by them. alpine 7893, alpine XM, MB quart 213 components, JL audio microsub 8.3 , entire car powered by jL500/5. Extreme happy with them, have been going there for 10yrs, installs in 4 different cars in my family. They are also a JL dealer, eclipse dealer, pheonix gold, kenwood, sony, mb quart, fosgate. http://images2.fotki.com/v20/photos/5/53481/221583/Picture7009-vi.jpg http://images2.fotki.com/v23/photos/5/53481/221583/Picture7012-vi.jpg Mobile Extreme on the other hand, is not an Alpine dealer. If you need someone to consult you which alpine to get, they cant help you there. Since they are not a dealer, they dont have any alpine inventory. However, they can still order alpine for you and install it for you. Pioneer, and kenwood is the only audio products i can think of that they carry. I do not have any audio products on my car from them. I've heard good things about them from people i know locally. I, however had my V1/K40 stealth installed by them. They are the only one i searched in northern westchester who had done enough V1/k40 setups that I felt most confident with. I also got my SSR GT3 wheels from them, I got it for 200 less than Tirerack. Basically, i walked in and asked if they can beat tirerack, they said yes. http://images3.fotki.com/v28/photos/5/53481/221583/P7030091-vi.jpg http://images3.fotki.com/v29/photos/5/53481/221583/P7030092-vi.jpg http://images3.fotki.com/v28/photos/5/53481/221583/P7030095-vi.jpg ducky 07-16-2003, 01:12 AM Sound Concept is good on pricing, but doesn't do a great job of installation... vodomagoo 07-16-2003, 09:25 AM jubu sound effects in paramus on rt 17 north is prob ur best bet for alpine, amazing amazing level of quility there. there wiring is an art. they installed my dads alarm and a bunch of my friends systems for them Keef 07-24-2003, 05:36 PM Talk to Stefano Loria @ Audio Design 212-255-8900 he does great work, he has a shop on the west side and another in Mt. Vernon. eeeks 07-24-2003, 06:53 PM I second the recommendation for Sound Effects in Paramus NJ. Lovely work...good pricing...no BS vfab98M3 07-24-2003, 07:59 PM I had mobile extreme do my e30 convert and they did a great job. Mike who is part owners grew up in my old town and he was always the one to go to for anything electronics for a car or truck what ever it was he did it and the jobs were always done right. I did try two other places that my other friends worked at or recommended just to see what they would say before I went to mike about the install that I wanted and they both said do to a convert the e30's are hard to get bass out of. I of course disagreed and went to mike at mobile extremes and he did a great job. I would show pictures but I just started on this board and I dont know how to attach photos just yet. I will try in the test section.:) |
