I just bought a used Uniden BC 246T scanner and wanted to know if anyone here has one or knows how to program it for NJ & NY Public Service frequencies.

Thanks!

This is one of the best frequencies (470.837). Its NYPD Special Operation Division (SOD) citywide frequency, which includes the Emergency Service Squad, Aviation, and Harbor units.

858.2125 is a decent one for the NJ State Police that patrols the NJ Turnpike and GSP.

im still learning about it. so i bought an old one. it works pretty well since i can listen to NY chatter from Zone 1 (downtown) all the way out here in Edison.

I haven't taken it out on the NJT and GSP yet but it does pick it up when there is activity.

I would suggest plopping down the extra $100 and getting a digital set up, clearer sound and more accurate. but this is a pretty good one to learn on!

i hear pretty cool stuff like people getting arrested, people fighting, what weapons they are using, where they are sending their units, car accidents, ambulance responses... stuff like that.
