View Full Version : *Feeler* GB on Alloy Radiators

///Dom

This is a revision of my previous "feeler" post with final details to the GB.

I've been looking for a replacement radiator for my s/c setup and found one that'll work perfectly, everything from factory fitment to a lifetime warranty!!! No more waiting to see if that custom radiator in development will work or not, and no paying upwards of $600 for a quality built radiator with a lifetime warranty. I've searched for the past few weeks trying to find a deal like this and now that I've found it, I'm passing it on to the first 10 people to respond. I'm not affiliated with Zionsville, just another BMW enthusiast looking to improve my M3. Here are the details:

These all-alloy radiators were exclusively custom built for Zionsville Autosport, a long-time trusted source for quality BMW parts. These high quality radiators offer:

• Increased Fluid Capacity by 50%
• High Efficiency European Fin Design
• Broad Application (See Below)
• Accepts All Original Equipment
(Shroud, Hoses, Overflow Tank, Sensor, etc.)
• Greatly Increased Life-span
• High Safety Margin
Tested at 4X Normal Operating Pressure
• Improved Serviceability with Petcock (metal adjustable drain)
• Impact Resistant
Will Not Break Like Plastic (used on factory radiator)
• Repairable All Alloy Construction
• Factory Radiators Are Known to
Have a Life-span of 60-80k Miles

These come with a Lifetime Warranty!

Visit Zionsville for more details and fitment guide: www.zionsvilleautosport.com

Here are the details to this GB:

The first 10 buyers will get one for only $429!!! With a lifetime warranty!!! Zionsville's introductory retail price is currently $459, which will probably be raised soon.
This is a ONE-TIME-ONLY deal, and we'll never see a price like this again!!! If you want one email me asap, because once we have 10 people, I'm closing the deal (I need mine yesterday).

To get yours at this ONE-TIME-ONLY group price, email me and then goto:

www.zionsvilleautosport.com

Place your order online and use this coupon code: ALLOYRAD

All payment types are accepted: Check, MO, Paypal, Visa, MC

Radiators won't be shipped until we have 10 paid orders.

Flat shipping rate of $15 will apply. Express shipping can be arranged.

This is an awesome deal for anyone looking to mod their car, anyone living in hot areas, or anyone wanting added protection against factory radiator failures.

If you want one, and you know you do, send me an email right now!: kmdlv@sbcglobal.net

Zionsville also offers a Hi-Po kit with same discount. Just use the kit coupon code: ALLOYRADK Shipping for the kit will be slightly more however (comes in two boxes).

Will these work on cars with automatic trannies? I've heard they "could" possibly be different b/c there are auto tranny coolers that run in fron tof the radiator. I'm not sure if they just mount on the stock radiator or the radiator itself has the mounts on them. More info on this matter would be great!

///Dom
07-12-2003, 04:04 PM
Drea - Yes they will work on autos. Matter of fact, all the mounting points, including those for the transcooler, are the same as the factory radiator. That's one of the reasons why I'm going with this radiator...no fitment issues.

sounds good....I'm gonna have to give up on the new wheels now...

///Dom

Bummer about the wheels. But wheels won't do any good unless your ride's running. :)

Please send me an email if you're gonna get in on the deal. Thanks.

What exactly is the "Hi-Po" kit?

It's a kit that includes:

Alloy Radiator
Alloy Thermostat Housing
Thermostat w/ Seal
Fan Blade
Fan Clutch

We've got 3 people already and need 7 more.

If you source these parts, it will cost you over $204.

I used a well known parts warehouse in to look up some prices (took the liberty of averaging things).

Aluminum Housing is about $34
Thermostat w/seal about: $20
Fan Clutch is about: $115
Fan Blade is about: $35

$204+ Shipping for all of the above.

The radiator costs $429 with GB, for an extra $100 ($529 Hi-Po Kit) you get all the parts listed above. You can think of it like you are getting the radiator for $325 and going out and getting all these parts afterwards for $204.

will this fit a Z3???

Dave - Unfortunately there isn't a model listed that will fit the Z3. I'll double check with Zionsville and get back to you.

On the Hi-Po version: is the fan clutch & blades just the stock parts or some improvement parts? If it's just stock stuff, I don't see the point (especially since I have mine removed). Any idea?

///Dom

Jeremy - I know it comes with an alloy thermostat housing. I'll check on the other parts and get back to you as well.

jgerry2002

As far as I know they are stock parts.

Fan Clutches do wear out, usually somewhere around the 100k mark if you are lucky.

Many people don't even notice they are worn out. The fan either freewheels or it ends up staying engaged all the time. A properly working fan clutch should disengage around 3500-4000 rpm when the car is completely hot. You can hear it.

You are right, it is not worth it if you remove your fan though. Just get a base radiator and get the alumium housing for an extra ~$35.

I prefer some redundancy (I am a network administrator so I think it comes with the territory). If your electric fan fails (and why is it always in the middle of a traffic jam?) you will overheat in a hurry without a mechanical backup.

Dave - just found out that the radiators will work on the following Z3 models:

models with the 3.2 M engines and the 2.8 M52
motors.

To be certain, we'd need to know the exact year and engine for your car. Let me know. Thanks!

Jeremy - just got a response from Zionsville. Essentially, the parts are original bmw parts, but they are the "European"
application of the E36 (slightly smaller fan blade design that makes it easier to fit in the car. They are new, factory parts though.

Let me know if you're in. Thanks!

Yea, tell me about redundency. I need to have two of everything now. Check out my mouse pad:

<img src="http://www.bmw2002.net/link/digital-small.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="218" border="0">

Good to note about the fan blade. Wonder how many mm difference between that and the USA one? Would this be the blade they use on the E36 6 cylinder Diesels? I've heard its a bit smaller. I can't seem to find anything in the ETK but a 420mm fan.

Nice to hear that it is factory parts, this does make a difference.

Dave - this is what was relayed to me from Zionsville:

it's a direct fit and "...it fits the models with the 3.2 M engines and the 2.8 M52 motors."

So, if your current setup is with a stock radiator, then there shouldn't be any issues. However, I will get the exact dimensions for you tommorrow (my contact there is out having a baby).

I was just about to pay for the Hipo kit when I decided to read their policy statement.
No returns after 10 days from invoice.
I figure it will take at least 5-6 days to reach me.
So, if I return the kit, for whatever reason, say, it doesn't fit properly.
It'll take another 5-6 days to return to Zionsville, in which case it will be out of the grace period.
Then what?

I want a reassurance that I can get this exchanged for one that fits even if it is a day or two late.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable here.

What say you?
