Sorry if I got you all excited, but as you can probably tell this Twin Screw is for a 4banger and it is not real pictures of stimpee's kit. I came upon the pics and couldn't resist. If there are any objections about not having real pics, please direct all complaints to http://www.dol.net/~stimpee :D
Thank you for participating.

Sorry Steve, it was the culmination of reading your sig and coming across these pics that made me do it :devillook . All in good fun :mdrbig
Shawn Fogg 07-09-2003, 11:25 PM That thing scares me. Looks like they cut a new hole into the top of the factory manifold for the outlet on the blower. That was on ebay awhile ago I think. As I recall it didn't have anything done to it yet to handle fueling.
This way:

at least lets you close the hood properly without screwing up the filter. ;)
Shawn
NickG 07-09-2003, 11:32 PM Looks like somebody's DASC Z3 has gotten rid of the RRFPR :D
Shawn Fogg 07-09-2003, 11:41 PM Nick,
Yup, shot that picture a couple of hours ago after I finished working on it.
Now if Airborne would just arrive.... :)
I like how much cleaner the rail area looks without the air injector lines plus now the AFPR won't be in the way of oil changes.
Shawn
95MMM 07-09-2003, 11:46 PM did that car come from texas?
cuz i think i've seen that thing around here
Number9 07-10-2003, 12:20 AM You mean this isn't a pic of Stimpee's twin-screw?
KIRASIR 07-10-2003, 10:20 AM Yup, this car was on Ebay about a year ago. It went really cheap around 6k I believe.
Shawn,
Are you now running Nick's software or PC3 or both :)?

The owner of that car said that it runs really well and has a bit more power than he expected. Not too bad of a buy for $6k.
It was a bank repo from what I remember. Can you imagine what the bank thought when they got it back. "....and we loaned a guy money for this!?!" :)
fast4d 07-10-2003, 10:49 AM I don't think that's a twin screw. it's a roots.
Shawn Fogg 07-10-2003, 10:49 AM Sl,
"Are you now running Nick's software or PC3 or both ?"
At the moment it isn't running at all... no DME. I should be getting it back from Nick today though.
The PCIII is still in there but it has a zeroed out map loaded. Assuming Nick did a good job his Stage II will make the PCIII redundant. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave it in place or not. I might rewire it to the feed for the OBC since its MPG function is going to be off with the Stage II software and the PCIII would let me fix that.

What do you mean 'assuming'??? :devillook
Shawn Fogg 07-10-2003, 02:53 PM Nick,
"What do you mean 'assuming'???"
If I didn't think you were going to do a good job you wouldn't have received my DME. Notice how I never shipped it out to Ca. and those other guys. ;)
If it works at least as well as the early pre-Stage I software I had I'll be very happy with it.
Shawn
NickG 07-10-2003, 03:25 PM I know Shawn.......I was just playing with you.

Nick/Shawn, does Nick have enough information from all your OBDII scans to be able to program it remotely, without having the car there to dynotest and fine tune? Obviously, since hes doing it, the question is more rhetorical in nature. I guess the next question would be, what sensor information would you require on a car that you were contemplating tuning remotely?
NickG 07-10-2003, 03:42 PM Paul, I'm not tuning it remotely. I had a car in my possession that was setup exactly like Shawn's. I've developed various stages of software for the DASC kits using that 'test mule' if you will.
Shawn Fogg 07-10-2003, 03:49 PM Nick,
Gotcha, wasn't sure how you meant your post.
Paul,
And since Nick is 'doing it right' his programming should be applicable to pretty much any DASCed 1.9l. As the normal actions of the DME would deal with the slight differences between them. Just as the stock software does on the variances on stock engines.
Shawn
psk145 07-11-2003, 01:34 AM if only the stock market was as reliable as Nick's tuning...........
we've had some 90+ degree days here, and the car hasnt had a ping yet on 91 octane!!!!!

Now, if only you had a few Dinan vortech systems sitting around, with 6" crank pulley to play with ! :D

my car has a 6" crank pullley....but a larger blower pulley, so less boost. Plus you're still OBD2. Give Nicko time IM sure he'll come up with something for you OBD2 people soon
