View Full Version : Relocating to Hawaii in August!
ADAM///M 07-08-2003, 04:23 PM Hello all,
I've been asked to relocate to Honolulu. Move should be effective around mid-August. I am very excited as I have a lot of family on Oahu. Looking forward to meeting you guys! :D
The Beastmaster 07-08-2003, 08:49 PM Aloha, Adam! We're probably having a Labor Day run for the BMW CCA members and the MINI guys. You're welcome to tag along.
thrlls, should we give Adam the Mystery Rally sheet to complete?
sirtiger 07-08-2003, 08:55 PM adam.... u so lucky.... can I come? I need to be hooked up!! People in Hawaii is so nice and such a nice place to be...
I do admit, after 3 months there, it got a little boring since its there is only so far u can drive round & round the island.....
808Cardinal87 07-08-2003, 11:02 PM Adam,
Who do you work for? Can I come with you??:)
Seriously if your company needs someone else to fill a Hawaii position, just let me know.
ADAM///M 07-09-2003, 10:45 AM Beastmaster - Thanks for the invite. I don't think my cars will be over there by Labor day...I will probably still have a rental at that point, however I will look forward to the next BMW event! I'll visit this forum regularly. BTW, where do all you Oahu guys live?
sirtiger and 95Dinan3 - Sure you guys can come with me....since I will need help moving. :D J/K I know what you mean about driving around the island...but I'm sure I will find a lot of cool things to do to occupy my time there.

IslandS62 07-30-2003, 02:49 PM Aloha Adam,
Cool to have another BFC member here. I am living out in the Aiea/Pearl City area. The real estate market is hot right now so you shouldn't have much trouble finding a place.
Anyway, welcome...look forward to meeting you
John

Hey Oni. Yeah I look forward to meeting you guys and getting together for an island run at some point! I'm doing my final So Cal canyon run this weekend after the annual LA Sports Car Club meet. Boy will I miss those canyons :( But more so looking forward to Hawaii!
By the way I have a Cosmos S52 M Roadster. See you soon.

John I've always loved your coupe. I saw those nice pictures of your car at auto-x recently...I may be interested in the track (including drags) at some point. I'll be in touch.

Adam...welcome
SCCA has autox once a month and lapping sessions in between wheel to wheel races about once every six weeks or so...I think there's drag racing almost every weekend.

i think it should do for now till i can afford a better one
:)
BTW how much do it cost to do the drag and auto-x thing?
Oni
Adam///M
yea i hope im on the island when they do that island run
:)
thrlls 07-31-2003, 04:30 AM Aloha Adam!
Welcome to O'ahu. Like Gene said there are a few venues to get your need for speed quelled for a while. Too bad your car won't be here for the Labor Day rally. Heck, come along anyway with the rental and see the island. Bring your family also, it should be fun!
Beastmaster > No mystery runs..just yet..yuk! yuk! yuk!
Looking forward to meeting you Adam, be sure to check back!
Aloha
:checkered
The Beastmaster 07-31-2003, 05:16 AM Awww, c'mon! I'm sure he'd be able to answer a couple of the questions.

Autox is $15 for SCCA members and I think $20 for non-members...that's for 4 timed runs, fun runs at the end of the day are $1 each...next autox is Sunday Aug 10...
Don't know how much it is to drag race, but I heard it's very reasonable...

Mahalos a whole heap
:)
DesmoBob 08-01-2003, 04:16 AM hello adam welcome to hawaii. :)
whoa there's a labor day event?
have the details been ironed out yet?
The Beastmaster 08-01-2003, 04:18 AM For that event, thrlls is in charge. It was his idea.
eight08three25 08-04-2003, 05:28 AM hey drag racing is every saturday if there are no events being runned that night and its $10 to run all night just as long as you have gas..lol but anyway when you first get to the track you would need to go to an orientation to see how the track is ran and operated.. hope this helps you with the track issue and if you see a blue 1988 325i say whats up and hope you like it here in Hawaii....
Sup Adam,
Have fun pronouncing Hawaiian street names like Likelike, Kalanianiole(sp?), etc. Enjoy your stay!
Gerald
ADAM///M 08-05-2003, 12:54 AM Hey guys, thanks for the info!
I'll be arriving soon but my stuff (including BMW) will be in storage for a while. Can't wait to get there and meet all of you.
See you soon!
ADAM///M 08-17-2003, 02:04 PM Hello again...I just found a place last week and so I'll be in Hawaii permanently November 1st. Can't wait! I'm on the Winward side. So beautiful there.
My BMW will love the daily Pali drive :D But he will have to stay stock for now since I'll be cash short for mods :(
See you guys soon!

What is this, I give the idea, the President at present, which is Da Beastmastah (like Larry Price would say) is the one to bring the idea to fruitation! I am not President material....:(
But IslandS52 is!
I am more of the backstage type...
Hey Adam, good to hear you will be here in Nov. Just watch out when coming down the Pali on the town side....a lot of radars there eating donuts.
What town on the Windward side? Kailua, Kaneohe? Where are you going to be working?
I'll be looking for your Cosmo S52 road-star!
:checkered
(Nice try Beastmaster!)

Hey thrlls, nice to know there are some other Roadsters in Oahu! In fact I saw a Imola Red M Roadster on Kalanianole Hwy near Aina Haina last week.
Yeah my sister lives in Kaneohe and has warned me about the police here. At least that White Van is gone. She said she was mailed something like 3 tickets from it.
I bought a place in Kailua Beach....at the very end in a little area known as Kaimalino...it's where the Kawainui Canal meets the ocean. This is my first home purchase and I went overboard. I can't afford it so I think I'm going to have rent one of the rooms. :az: I'll be working on Bishop Street in Honolulu so I just take the Pali all the way down...as it turns into Bishop just past the H1. Very convenient compared to what I'm used to in LA.
Mahalo!
Gordon L 08-17-2003, 08:05 PM Hey Adam, very nice ///M roadster and welcome! Kaimalino is very nice, you will enjoy it very much! Starting November, I'll keep a sharp eye out for you while I make my daily commute from Kailua to Bishop Street. See ya.......
