Does the V1 need to be mounted on the windshield or can i mount it in a DIN slot?

i believe it has to be mounted on the windshield, due to the fact so that it is able to have no interference with signals

The V1 main unit needs to be on the windshield as that is where the sensors can get their optimal signal detection.

The conceal display allows you to turn off the display and sound of the main unit and transfer it to anywhere in the car.
The conceal display has full audio and visual control and can mounted on the cigarette lighter, dashboard, din slot or just about anywhere in the car where the extension cord can reach.

How low can you go?

Here's my situation. The V1 has been sitting since I last used it in May so I am not in a hurry to sell. I paid almost $500 for it when I bought it around February or March and only used it 3 times.
