I've tried Mercedes 8 Pots up front and Lotus 4 pots in the rear, 8 Pots discs and mounting brackets were $1,200 alone! The Calipers were half the price. I also tried Wilwood 6 pots up front, I needed a tow truck when i caught a flat, Same with the 6 Pot Wilwoods, They were very nice but nothing noticeble from stock in traffic driving, They both sold in one day on the bay, No street difference, The only difference i notice was with pad changes, I'm in the Desert and work a hour away, So i have the plain old Csi set ups!--) Csi throwing star as a spare works great

Where did you source mounting brackets to adapt the Benz calipers? How about the disks? Where did you get disks of the right size? I take it they were the AMG 8 pots? I really want to do 8 pots on my 7....

there's some pics of the AMG brakes on an 8 up at 8er.org, look on the thread that discusses 20" wheels on E31.

My 95' 840Ci is suppose to, but I'm not sure.

SEMA was great...not much 'new stuff' but was nice to meet a few people face to face or see old friends.

Everyone talked about how low attendence was this year....

I was pretty impressed by the size of the stock brakes on these cars, and judging by their heft and speed capability they seem about the right size. Is there any point in upgrading the brakes for other than looks on the 8s? There won't be a benefit in stopping distance, and with the larger diameter pistons brake pedal effort will go up, and I'm doubting anyone here is overheating their brakes since none but a few race or autox them. So is there a history of the stock brakes being inadequate?

I don't want to be negative, but there are so many other great things you can buy for these cars with that money :)
