Hi folks.

1. I bought my '97 840 4 weeks ago. But I have no owners handbook with the car. Does anyone know where I can get one? Should I just ring my local dealer? I am U.K based would I need to contact BMW U.K?

2. Had a flat battery after leaving the lights on it over night in the garage, and now although I have got the radio recoded etc etc. I cant work out how to reset the clock. Can anyone explain how to reset it please ? (supose if I had the handbook I wouldnt need to ask on here lol)

3. How many posts before I can post pictures of my car lol.?

i think it's 15 posts before you can post pics.
maybe one of the UK based 840 guys can chime in on the manual
i know there is e31faq.com with a lot of knowledge but they merged with another site

look online for the manual

it's gonna be steep but maybe you can find one that you can download and print. that's what i did for my '99 z3 back in the day. as far as the radio - well you need the code. which is usually on a sticker on the radio. if that's not there then you're SOL b/c the only other copy would be with the... um... manual. good luck and welcome!

you can call the bmw dealer. give them your vin no. and they will give you the code
provided it's the radio your car came with when it was sold new.
i did it that way

that's wierd my bmw dealer couldn't do it. the code was off my radio - someone peeled it off at some point - and they told me "oh well, tough luck". until i luckily found it amongst the PO's paperwork :buttrock

Did anybody buy there's with a manual??

I sold my last car with it still in there, maybe it's just a popular souvenir for the previous owners?

Oh well.

Check phonix motorsports website in the UK. Gerry is the guy to speak to and I think he sells photocopies of the manual for a fraction of the price
