Ok, before I get burned at the stake, let me preface;

I have a very steep drive way! It was borderline with my last car on scraping, I almost didn't get the 8 because it was lower to the ground.

When I received my car the bottom most strip of the bumper was hanging on by a screw or two, the rest had been stripped clean off.

So I removed the bottom strip so to reduce scraping, but now from some angles I can see my horns (red) and it bothers me.

Ideally I would like to bond the strip back on and go about my business, but I'm afraid to put it back on only to have it all scraped up and be ON my car.

So do you think I should paint the horns black?

Repair or replace the bottoms strip?

Or maybe a third option that one of you bright gentlemen could suggest.:help

Thanks

..get a 4 x 4 with a lift kit...

The 8 is a low clearance vehicle, you will have to manage like the rest of us...

My last neighbor put down this thick, wide metal strip (like at road construction sites)across the bottom of his driveway to stop bottoming out (he had a vette). Looked like absolute hell, but worked. I park outside, and the few times I do go down, I go in at an angle, as much as I can.

there is only one solution:

Relocate the horns, Most of us have.

Leave the strip off. It is just going to eventually catch something and pull the bumper off with it. In fact, if it is already as you have described, you already probably have some cracks and weakened attach points. Regrade the dirveway but bear in mind this only fixes your driveway not the thousands of other places you will go where you will face the same problem.

Now that's the idea I was looking for!

Where did you reposition yours?

I changed mine horn set up to air horns, Work better with the alarm as well, There mounted inside the front center grills, Got that idea from Wuffer, They fit perfect!
