View Full Version : Aloha 500 Tech Session
The Beastmaster 07-05-2003, 06:23 PM The Aloha 500 tech session will be held Saturday, July 12 from 4 pm to 7 pm at BME Hawaii.
Along with teching cars for the Aloha 500, Alf Schneider will be going over vehicle maintenance tips and performance modifications. IslandS52 is also arranging a paintless dent removal session for all those interested.
For more info on BMW Hawaii, please go to their website. BME Hawaii (http://www.bmehawaii.com)
Be there, Aloha!
IslandS62 07-05-2003, 09:50 PM Yes please post to confirm that you will be using the paintless dent removal guy (or are planning to). I don't want this guy to show up and everyone flaking out.
Beastmaster: What are the helmet requirements for A500? I went to Cycle City today and bought an open face helmet. Its DOT approved but the sales guy there says only full face helmets are Snell approved. Is the open face type helmets OK to run with?
The Beastmaster 07-05-2003, 10:06 PM Open face? No can do! j/k It must have some type of rating on the helmet, either Snell 95, 00, or M 95 or 00.
Open face is fine, in fact it gives you a better peripheral view. That is why our instructors prefer them.

Bryan...is this the one and only tech session? Ken will be out of town and I don't think I'll have my new brake pads in by next Saturday.

IslandS52...I have a couple of small dents that need attending to if any of the previously commited guys don't show up.
What was the cost?
Gene
The Beastmaster 07-05-2003, 11:36 PM Gene, this is our only group tech session. However, you can always take your car to BME, BMW or Motorworks to have your car tech'd at a later date.
Gene V 07-05-2003, 11:58 PM Okay, maybe I'll show up and see if I can pass with my current pads, if not, the majority of the teching will be done and I can come back later with the new pads...
Tks, Gene
momochrome 07-06-2003, 08:24 AM I'm in for the tech session and the paintless dent removal.

IslandS62 07-06-2003, 02:48 PM I'll be calling the Dent removal guy today. It looks like having enough guys to keep him busy will not be a problem. Cost is between you and he, however to give you an idea his wholesale price is about $50 a panel. Typically he will charge me about $120 and he will remove every dent on the car.
98M3_4 07-08-2003, 06:03 AM Also in for the paintless dent removal
Davin
I wish I could meet up for the dent removal session. I work this Saturday at 4pm.
