I was reading the thread (long) on the M3 series E46 about the software download from Jeff Z. Eurobahn. I e - m'd him about having it installed on a certain S54 M roadster, which he said it could be done ($600 something plus shipping) and not only on M3's. Any BMW from 1996 to present. He said he could be persuaded to come to Hawaii and do some downloads if there was enough interest. He needs at least 7 people that wants to do the download to make his trip worth it $$ wise anyway.
Read the post, there are a lot of good ?? on there and most of your ?? will be answered, but there are also some stabbing going on. There is suppose to be a shoot out happening, but no date has been set yet.
Check it out, and post here if interested, I told Jeff to monitor this post to read comments. Maybe we can save some shipping cost, if not I'll purchase and try it out...it's the only way to know for sure. Oh, hp gains are 17, read the post there are so many diff. numbers from diff. sources.

wow I actually read the whole thread. I think it might be worthwhile for those of you with S54 motors as I understand gains are expensive and hard to come by on that motor. For myself though, I think Conforti offers a better cost/gain ratio as well as tangible product and DIY install/de-install. It will be interesting to see shoot -out results though. Although I have not met many E46 M3 club members, I have met a few on the road here that would probably be interested...

I find it amazing that new vendors come here and are immediately slammed by non-believers and flames. I can't understand why this happens but I have seen it more than a few times in the Z3 board. I have to give guys credit for being willing to answer all the questions and sift through all the crap to keep members happy.

Correct IslandS52, a lot of slamming going on. Unforturnately, there isn't much that can be done. What amazes me more, is the amount of patients showed by Jeff, and taking on all questions as well as arrows. I was waiting to see if Dinan would have anything to say, but I guess not. Dinan should be a part of the shoot out, but then he probably doesn't care, he's already in the $$$$.

I'll wait until after the A - 500 before purchasing, if there isn't enough interest. I don't want to be caught with my ECU down on the 26th.
