Important theoretical question..

If I'm going to dump $5-10k into my car in mods... I'd like to be damn sure that should it get totaled or stolen, I will recover those losses.

Since my current insurance is through a business policy, my agent is trying to convince me it can't be done... but I have heard otherwise.

Anyone think about this ? Do you guys know what will happen with your insurance if your car's gone ? Are those rims or bodykits going to be paid for ? I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on the matter. All comments are welcomed.

I believe you can insure whatever u want.. as long as u pay the extra bill and send them the recipt proof u purchased and installed it into the car. But I never tried so what the hell do i know. :)

Yes, my car and all it's mods are insured. It will raise your rates some, and can lead to touchy questions like, "Why are you getting a supercharger, are you planning on racing it?" etc....

Dave,

Can I ask who your insurance company is, and how much you pay? Or, just as important, how much extra you pay for your mods... and how much you've insured with them in mods.

Thanks sire >_<
