Hello,

Anyone know of a good place in the South Bay Area that charges a fair price and uses good quality paint (such as Standox or BSF) to paint a front bumper. I have a BMW replacement bumper and can bring just the bumper over so all they need to do is paint the bumper. I will install it back myself.

Thanks,

Proper material, paint, equipment, and painter are required for a good paint job, I will give you that. If want a CORRECT paint job, any good painter will tell you to bring the car to the shop, bumper and all. He needs the car there to blend everything together. Your paint may not be faded, it may look like it came off the floor 5 minutes ago. But none of that matters when painting post factory. Hope to see photos of the car when done!

thanks for the reply - I really dont like sending my car into shops. I worry that someone will either remove parts from my car and replace it without me knowing it. Thats why I can bring the old front bumper and the new front bumper and leave it there for them to match. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Bad idea to expect the old bumper to match. Just take out of the shop what you don't want stolen, or get it properly covered by insurance. Obviously if the shop is next to the probjects or they want you to leave it there for a month then don't go. If you feel that sketch, then go to the place and check it out for yourself. A shop like what Roake describes is what your want, probably. A good shop is too busy with all the projects they have to take the time and steal.

you can contact hphan84@gmail.com (henry) he has a friend that works at SF bmw and they do side projects together. I had them paint my bumpers and it came out fine. If you have original parts then I would suggest B line in san jose.
