I just felt like it was a good time to move on. And it yelded more $$ that way, rather than selling in one piece.

I sold the body/chassis to someone who's gonna transfer the parts off their crashed car.

Nice to see you'll actually drive this time rather than only work ;)

I had a good time. Fourth place in MM isn't bad since it was someone else's car.

As is normal, my S50 E30 had some sort of issue during the day which caused me to park it and hop into my buddies' wife's E36 M3. I warned her that I would beat her time in it -- she said no problem. I ended up beating her by about 5 seconds, at which point she said I can never drive any of her cars, ever again.

I had a blast, there were a lot of awesome cars and people out there. My driving noticeably improved which was great, I ended up 5th in D-class but had my time been .5 sec faster I would have been 3rd. My last lap was quite a bit faster than my 2nd but my brake pedal went into the carpet coming down the hill and I ended up getting sideways to correct and lost quite a bit of time, but was still only .2s slower than my other lap, so I feel like I drove into 3rd place :D

Oh and getting to ride in Matts e36 race car and a Gt3 pretty much made my day too

The only thing I know for sure is that the section before the slalom, I was braking at ~6800rpm in 3rd.

I ended up with a time of 95.5XX. My power steering pump is definitely not a happy camper, but at least she didn't break before the day was over. I'm pretty stoked to have gotten TTOD tho. :alright

So what was your top speed? I never looked at mine, I am too chicken to take my eyes of of the course. It was nice to keep it wot in third gear for a few seconds though.

On another note...
Lining up with the slalom and getting the entry speed right was my favorite part of the course. Usually, at the end of a fast section you have to slam on the brakes to make a tight turn or something.

I looked down for a split second while accelerating towards the slalom and saw that I was doing about 75 and I think I accelerated a bit more after that, so close to 80?
Also on the downhill sweeper I almost redlined in 2nd so I was approaching 65...

Kim opts to run in the "mens" group these days, so she isn't eligible for top female time.

Charisse (Mrs. Dragon M) opted to run in the "mens" group yesterday, but for whatever reason when the calculations were done she was awarded top female time anyways.

I looked down once before the slalom and was at 80 in 3rd but I still kept on the gas for a bit longer before hitting the brakes...I also braked a little earlier than I usually would for that section...I know I definitely hit 90...My car is slow though. I'm pretty sure my fastest lap was a 102 something...Not bad for a stock engine (186HP).

PSS9 coilovers, uuc trailing arm bushing, K&N intake, and 235/40 Federal tires...and the weight reduction lol!. Everything else is stock. I'm terrible with names, but the instructor with the Boxster really helped me out. He even took me for a ride in his car.

Great run Ghambino - my son could only get a 102.XX out of our little 2.0 six - I believe it was good enough for Second though, but do to name placement, they gave the award to someone else, his name was written on the gold class white board on the trailer in stead of in the D class. My 104.XXX with one cone did nothing for the scoring

If it did it wasn't noticeable through the esses, however the entry to the last chicane/esse (it was a left-right) before the last left hander leading to the finish the inside did lift. The rake of the car under acceleration and turn in looks quite a bit rear biased, more so than others similar to a black e36 m3 (it had weird headlights/corner lights, cf hood and ltw rear wing).

What spring rates are you running? Have you thought about running a tender spring setup in the front?

I'm running 500# front and rear on TCKline DA's with TCKline camber/caster plates, strut bar, sway bars, etc., etc. It handles extremely neutral, and will only act up if I screw up somehow. :rofl

Peoples speed perception is off a little and the BMW speedo is a bit Optimistic. On my runs from early in the day. My Data shows them at 93.xxx, my top speed before the slalom was 83.2 mph, and that's with 4th gear and a 3.91 rear. I can see some of the higher HP cars reaching a higher speed there, but needing to slow down more for the slalom.

Top speed on the downhill was 70mph.

Any pics of the sticker mobile?

According to my gearing calculator, my car (with the 3.38 and 255's) was doing about 90mph before I hit the brakes before the slalom. 6750rpm in 3rd is 90mph. I was able to stay on the car almost completely flat out from the 180 degree right-hander, which is probably why I got going so fast. :dunno

If you saw 6750 on your tach is was probably more like 6500rpm. With the Data Logger and Tach comparison, my Tach shows 3700 RPM, when the Data Logger shows 3500rpm. Although with nearly 80 HP more from the Euro Motor than my 2.8L, I wouldn't doubt you have a higher straight line speed.

Yeah, I got some video, but the quality isn't to great, I think there is a Loose cable in the system someplace.

I know have the video and data logging system setup so the Data Logger tells the Camera to start recording at the same time it does, so as long as I turn the data logger on I record video.

I haven't posted any from the AutoX, but here is a link to my Video page, so you can check out other stuff. The most recent video on there is from my last race in Mexico.
