View Full Version : NJ Shop Recommendation for RSMs, TIRE/WHEEL mounting, and ALIGNMENT?
I'm in Northern Jersey, near Englewood Cliffs/Ft. Lee area and would like a shop recommendation for the following:
1. Rear Shock Mount (RSM) replacement
2. New Tires/Rims Mounting/Balancing and Installation
3. 4 Wheel Alignment
Thanks,
Justin
Sorry, can one of the moderators add North Jersey to the title?

Dunno if they do RSMs but they do my wheels and alignment.
Isn't that far if you don't run into the mall traffic. Just hop on route 4 to route 17 north make a U-Turn when you see it on the Southbound side. It's a little past the big Barnes and Noble.
Hey Z,
Any idea as to how much do they charge to mount/balance 4 18" rims/tires? And I assume they're experienced with big rims and won't scratch them?
And what about the alignment? How much did that run you?
Thanks,
Justin
z 318is 06-29-2003, 08:08 PM Around 60ish for mount / balance, 70ish for alignment I think. Been a while and my mind has gone to hell. You can always call 'em up and ask. Pretty sure it's around there though.
And no, no scratches on the rims :)
Cosmos 06-29-2003, 10:03 PM If you don't mind traveling to central Jersey, Freedman on Rt. 27, Edison does excellent work. They've got the latest no-touch Hunter tire mounters and use the Hunter 9700 road force tire balancer. Jake, the owner, use to run a Euro E28 M5.
Ok guys, I've decided to go ahead and do my RSMs at MotorWorksWest this Wednesday morning. I've heard nothing but good stuff about them and I'm sure thay can take care of my RSMs without a problem.
BTW, they use the E46 shock mounts with Z3 plates if anyone is interested. This is included in their RSM price. So basically they charge you about 1.25 to 1.5 hours of labor for the job if you remove the price of these RSM components. That's reasonable I think.

MWW is BANK, Justin. I'd suggest going to Precision on Rt. 17S.

Freedman is a good shop - they are(were?) a Tire Rack installer. Does anyone know if they will do the suspension work (spring/shock/strut replacement)?

Freedman does do suspension work. You can get UUC stuff from them too.

RidinLow 07-23-2003, 10:45 PM I use the guys at www.azpinstalls.com. They're a bunch of hard core autoxers and freelance modders/mechanics. They did a great job with the tint/RSM/Eibach/Koni installs on my M3, and they're gonna do my clutch too.
