I actually hope this wasn't anyone from bimmerforums cause this girl was a real idiot.
First I pull up next to her at the gas station and of course I tell her that I really like her car. I guess correctly that it was a '97 and we start BSing for a while. Now I have NEVER had the chance to run a E36 M3 so I ask her if when shes done she would like to go for a run. She laughs at me and tells me that she beats everyone and I don't have a chance.

At this point the gas station attendant chimes in and says "YOU dont have a chance. I bet you $500 that you can not beat her... How much HP do you have?"

I tell him about 230....He says."See she has 40 hp on you. She will destroy you."
Me-"Wow you have no idea what you are talking about."
Gas station attendant leaves.

She proceeds to tell me that she has a supercharger. I ask her to pop the hood. She says no. We get her to turn on the car. No whine. We ask her to rev it...she declines. SHE DEFINITELY didnt have a SC...i could tell she was making up shit.

So of course the entire 10 mins I am there between all this conversation everyone around is saying that it wont even be close and she will "DESTROY ME".

I am done getting gas and I ask her if I should wait so we can run. She says "I will DESTROY you bad. I am not going to race you for your EGO trip."

All in all...Talk the talk and dont walk the walk. I cant stand people like this.:mad:
I had my passenger seat removed, spare, and jack removed and very little gas. She had 1 passenger and I KNOW she didnt have experience behind her like I did.
Believe me I know she drove a faster car but when it came down to it I was confident that it would at least be a good race and I could possibly beat her because I think I would launch right off of her on the line. I am consistent and I RARELY mess up. Always get the best out of my car and I DOUBT she coulda posted a 14.6 run on the street which is what she would have had to best to beat me. Plus who street races past 60-80...I woulda launched her and then stopped before she knew what happened.

Another thing- she had NO FREAKIN clu what I had. If I had as much as an ECU too I KNOW I wouldve beaten this girl, if I was boosted it would've been UGLY....she was Definitely all stock. Why do people talk when they have no clue what they are up against? I NEVER tell people I will destroy them. I have beaten turboed Civics but I never talk shit to people and tell them their NA civic isnt worth my time. If its go time, ITS GO TIME.:D

i also have a red M3 in South Jersey, but i really do have goodies on my car.

couldnt find the throw up smily....unattractive is an understatement for that girl. she looked like ass. her car was the only thing going for her.

wow your cool, 1st off street racing is dumb, i doubt u can run a 14.6 if the track was not preped. the m3 should be all over you your 60ft alone is sad hell i pulled a 2.28 60ft in 40 deg weather spining and a not so stock m pulled a 2.0 spining that night

a 14.6 ? an auto m3 runs 14.7's, or better .... and her car was a 5spd ?? ..... ive personally seen a 95 m3 with exhaust pull a 13.8 granted it was perfect shifts ... but i dont think ive seen any m3 driver get slower then 14.3 even if they hadnt been driving for a while ....... maybe you should go explain on maxima.org, im sure even there they'll tell you not a snowballs chance in hell

Guys I know what an E36 does. It is my favorite car and I know as much about it as I do my car.

Tell me this...what kind of 60 foots would one pull if it spun all the way thru first gear? how about if she bogged off the line? I am telling you my launches are right on 2.2-2.3(maybe) everytime. Plus my RT is sick. I hit .0xx lights all the time now. On a street race against this girl I dont care what you say I know it wouldve been close and I am pretty confident I woulda won. There is not enough time in a street race to catch up. I do not race past 80 often at all. I woulda taken her to 80 and flashed her.

IMO Street racing is 90% RT and launch, 10% everything else.

who race's past 60? umm pretty much every race ive seen gose past 60 the point is 1/4 mile and im pretty shure even you go past 60 in 1320ft. also reaction time means nothing in street racing getting the jump does cause lets remember theres no red lighting. oh and do you mean .5 rt's cause .0 is red lighting and ive seen a 2.2 60ft outta a m3 spining thru 1st and 2nd. also how do you know she has no experence, being all confident you must know her background ect... your talking outta ur ass man you dont know if she has a 9 sec camaro or a quick 8 car in her garage now do ya oh and ill race my little e30 325es against ya anyday

dumbass ... you talk as if your going to race her in a quartermile .. my RT's are sick, my launches my 60 ft ... in the street it doesnt matter ... roads are built with different types of asphalt so technically speaking your car is different on and off track......

dude i suggest you quit while your not being flamed on too much yet. Seriously, m3's are a pretty serious car and its not hard at all to get a 14.6 in a 5 spd. Hell a good friend of mine ran my car for the first time and he had just gotten his license a few months before and he ran a 14.4. i own a 95 m3 and run 14.0 - 14.2's almost constantly..... depending on weather and all. but honestly you don't know if she had any experience, and wether or not u get the jump on her, you'll slow it down at 60, she'll keep going and still rub it in your face that she destroyed you. ..anyways just tryin to help you out as a new member cuz i see alot of newb's get flamed for posts like this.

first of all a stock 325 could beat a stock m3 all it takes a perfect run from one an a misshift from another or a real shitty run from the next...Cars are one thing but if you can't drive quick it doesn't matter what kind of car you have. Now this is under the assumption that one them is a really good driver and that she can't drive. Now if her car was an auto yuou would need a really good launch to beat her.

(By the way my friend in a 323 with exhaust and intake beat a kid in a 911 on the 1/4.)

Yeah he is right i used to tempt people to race when i first got my license but now i care too much about my car to drag anyone. Even if you are a good driver he may not be and may lose control and hit you...In my eyes its not worth it and there is no way that racing any car is safe regardless if it is in a controlled area or not. Don't get me wrong i push my car on the twistes but i have just about the same amount of fun without racing anyone.

Vodomagoo do you track your car? If so do you know of any tracks in the area that will except conv. Do you think that if i put my hardtop they would except me?

the big thing isent the track letting you on its rather the club your doing the driving event with letting you run with them. i know bmwcca does not allow it but there are a bunch of other clubs that do best bet is to look on the track forum and post there. if your talking drag racing then im not shure

thanks i ll do that i dont have to much interest in dragging but i do think that they let verts on the track.

I almost died hitting a telephone pole at 110mph on a turn. I take turns easy and I never do anything that would endanger my life like that anymore. I race on roads that I know and with noone around. I cant convince you that it is safe, but I know that I am endangering anyone. and I dont race often on street. I have raced 3 times at the track in the past 5 weeks prolly and less than that on the street.
I dont know of any tracks that dont let verts run. For example you can only NOT run in NJ if you are a vert without a certain # of points in your roll cage and go faster than 13.00 I think.
