Hi guys,
I spoke to Greg today and he can't make it this weekend. He runs a business and needs a couple of weeks notice. I think this weekend is too short a notice for most people, if we're going to try and do this let's get as many participants as possible.

I propose this: a one day get -together on the last Sat. of Oct/ 1st Sat in November. We keep things simple- a luncheon/ meet-n-greet, take pics, and (if I can arrange it, and if anyone is interested) a dyno session at a local place (it was about $45 last time if I remember correctly).

Thoughts?

Ethan- while I appreciate your generous offer, a six hour round-trip is too much for the privelege of getting greasy! I'm making good progress, and if this gathering works out we can make plans for a bigger hoe-down in the spring. Something TEXAS SIZE!

BTW, I still think we need a new thread...

I am in for the meet as well for organizing if you need any help with that.. No more travel for business but I will be out 9 days in Hawaii for vacation right after Thanksgiving....

Thanks for the new thread Greg. Any ideas on where we should meet? A friend of mine in Georgetown (just north of Austin) has a car audio shop which would give us a place to meet. Any other suggestions?

Not sure if this is a long shot but if you guys could hold your meet in Palmdale Ca. Free food, Dyno, Pictures next to my 8's will be part of this Glorious Weekend, I could also through in some Vidoe of my now 6.8 second Camaro run at Pomona Fairgrounds, If you require more, Forget about then!---)

11/1 is this Saturday. I have a mother-in-law going for cancer tests Friday. Depending on how that goes, I'm game for a quick scoot to north Austin. I could be there by noon.

GAULT's Goodie-Box arrived tonight - might be able to make it as well after I get back from Los Angeles late Thursday.

I am still up for it. Who's coming? M.Rad had some ideas for a place to me. So do I. We can meet at my friend's audio shop in Georgetown. If that works, I will set it up. If anybody else has a suggestion, let me know. We need to finalize things quickly.

Georgetown sounds good to me. 210 miles and easier in/out of than Austin or south for me.

Let's have it in Georgetown unless someone has another suggestion.

Yeah reschedule please since we don't have so many people attending. Besides I just got the famous stomach flu bug that is so strong that even antibiotics can't fix it :-( I will hate to give that you all guys....

Ethan, sorry to hear you're feeling ill, I know the crud can be quite debilitating.
If we are to re-schedule, what about the following weekend? Georgetown is fine for me. How many potential attendees do we have? I'd be happy to meet with just a few people, or a lot, doesn't matter. If we have just a few we can always make plan for bigger and better later next spring.
If we keep posponing this, I'm afraid it will be difficult to motivate people for the "Big One".

As for the Meet in georgetown, as much as I would like to, I really havent driven my car more than 100mi in one sitting.

I just dont trust her.. lol.

I'll be there, but my eight is still not assembled. I have the motor assembled but I'm still cleaning the engine compartment, etc.

Can't make it this weekend... A good friend of mine from Aberdeen Scotland is making a quick stop in Houston going to Cancun just to see me... I used to work there and haven't seen his sorry arse for about 4 years now.. Can't miss this for the world man.... Sorry Sorry Sorry....

I have been really paying attention to this meet since I am a relatively new 8 owner in austin but unfortunately my car is still getting work done on it and it will not be ready for another week or so. On a good note I think I might be getting a new headliner through my insurance which is pretty cool. Sorry guys!

This one may be smaller but one of the things I want to start planning is a larger, multi-day event for next year. I think it will be fun regardless.

Had a great time, good to put faces to the folks here. What a toy shop! Neat stuff and some beautiful stereo work by Doug in his 7. Thanks for the invite.
Now for all the weak asses that didn't show up- what's the deal? There are 6 or 7 more that are local within 100 miles (most less than that). This makes it another year of big talk and no action. I had 6 show for the picnic last year. Can't seem to break that number!
On a serious note, we should entertain a plan for next spring. Maybe if it is planned far enough in advance it will draw more attendance. I'm sure most will come up with some last minute excuse anyway!! How's that for
pessimistic?! Something big with a $100.+ event registration that would include food/activities for the weekend would separate who's serious or not.:D
