JaredM3 10-14-2008, 12:02 PM Nice, I have been meaning to do this...How far is the drive from you? I am in Lebonon, ME on the 3 ponds almost every weekend.
m3mac13 10-14-2008, 12:14 PM with traffic it was a solid 2 hours, but the pictures do not do the view any justice. On a clear day you can pick out peaks in Canada. So worth the $27. No guardrails though, so if you are affraid of heights avoid this one or take the train to the top
FredK 10-14-2008, 12:26 PM Ha, I love the Cog Railway. It's really fun.
Mless5 10-14-2008, 12:29 PM I was sitting at the light yesterday behind some beat up dodge caravan held together by ducktape and it had a sticker "this car ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to climb Mt. Washington" :D
tb0ne 10-14-2008, 12:29 PM I remember my parents' sweet family truckster overheating on the way up when I was a kid. Good times.

:lol
Still, I love the stickers that say "This car climbed Mt. Washington". Sooo good.
GR330ZHP 10-14-2008, 12:34 PM Nice! Nice E36 and pics
I just did that drive in August in my ZHP... and my dad had his E46 M3!.......soooooooooooooo much fun!
I have lots of pics but I cant figure out how to post them.
m3mac13 10-14-2008, 03:00 PM Yea there is always some turd who wants to make it to the top in a car that can not.
The entire ride up there was a steady trail of drips and every mile marker or so there was a small puddle. Once I got to the top I saw a green Ford Festiva broken down and steaming like a fresh pile of manure that it resembled. Obviously there was its puzzled owner pondering as to why it would not start, standing there scratching his head with the hood propped.

Thats right you hangout in Redneckville. Oh wait I'm from that area. Its about two hours from Lebanon or Milton, NH.
adstock 10-14-2008, 05:13 PM How are are the back seats looking from hauling the dog around?
m3mac13 10-14-2008, 06:03 PM hes got his own hammock in the back seat.
Arctic330i 10-14-2008, 06:05 PM Sweet pics, I went up there when I was like 12. My grandparents took me and I was scared shitless because I kept thinking my grandpa was going to drive us off a clifff hahahaha. I'd love to take the drive up myself sometime.
///M3Augy 10-14-2008, 07:05 PM I remember that car, and that girl from the Turner meet awhileeeee ago. :shifty

bungy42 10-15-2008, 01:15 PM Ha, I hate the Cog Railway. It's really expensive.
fixed.
The view from the top kicks ass, but a real man walks it. :D
StealthBM 10-15-2008, 01:23 PM Nice pics from up there! I've made it up there a few different times and different cars. Best view from top and great place to take visitors from other country. Only thing scary is the ride down and smoking the brakes up.

You're allowed to walk it?
I know they have a road race and a bike sprint up Mt. Washington, but these are single day events.

You can hike Mt. Washington or do half with the help of the railway. :)

What are you up to when you're in Lebanon? My g/f is from North Berwick so we're up in that area for the weekend every 1-2 months or so when we visit friends/her folks.
JaredM3 11-26-2008, 12:49 PM ^ North Berwick hugh? There is a pretty cool arcade place with a driving range and go karts along with batting cages and crap in Somersworth...forget the name of it...
As for me My grandmothers house is on the lake up there and we have a couple of boats so there is plenty of waterskiing and wakeboarding to go around. And anyone that wants to take on the tube while Im driving.:devillook
The winters are all about snowmobiling.
Sure beats hangin out in the summer around here when its 90 deg and 100% humidity...errrr
pmac2007iq00 11-26-2008, 01:29 PM Hilltop Fun Center. I think they also added a laser tag building there.

We didn't get the chance to do much outdoorsy shit in maine last winter but i'm hoping to change that this year. her parents have 300+ acres of land that is great for cross country skiing and just begging to be torn up by a snowmobile.
It definitely is great up there in the summer. Its nice to get out of the city every now and then. This past year we did a bunch of hiking/camping with another couple and then a huge 2-day Saco river trip with 10-15 people.
I so want to plan a bfc trip up to the Saco this summer. Knowing our organizational skills it'll probably have to be set up in april/may for a june/july trip, but it would be epic.

A few of us on the "other" forum (Bimmerfest) are taking a Kank & Mt. Washington trip on June 13th if you're still interested in making the trek!

Go ahead and visit the link and PM the organizer if you have enough posts to do so, or just reply on the thread. I believe we still have 3-5 openings. He wants to keep the group small to avoid "attention." I'm trying to get one of my groomsmen to go in his Alpine White 99 M3/2dr as well.

I've never driven up it, but Ive hiked it 5 times, 2 winter accents. Up and back in about 6 hours usually. Badass mountain, with some amazing views. Actually just did it yesterday :-)
