It is your general module. Runs all the systems you have discribed. There is a break in the soldering in the unit. It is so tiny that when is is cold the connection is lost between the two joints. Of course when it warms up the joint expands and it works fine. Try this. Start the car up in cold weather when the problem exists. Take it for a drive with the heater on. Pointed towards your feet (footwell) and see what happens. I bet the window and all the goodies start working in about 10 to 15 min. You are in luck. A guy here does fix the units at a very reasonable cost. Well that is it. Get back to us with your results of the test. Hope this helps. Take care.

First thing to look at is the condition of the batteries.
If your batteries are older or not holding a sufficient charge (12v), then you will experience some of these problems. If the batteries are okay, then it will most likely be the general module. If you need one of these, I can get you a refurbished unit with your's in exchange. Contact me off line at: scs763@aol.com

Try the heater in the car. Or if you have a hair dryer and don't want to drive it around then do that. The general module is located in the driver's side foot well here in the US. The left side of the car. If in cold weather you are having the problem. Try the heater method or use the hair dryer. Same result just different methods. Doing this will confirm that it is indeed the general module. Now contact Steffen (AKA TxGR8White), he is a trustworthy person and very helpfull and work out the details of getting one that works. $1,000.00 is way to much to pay. You can replace this on you own if you like. Not hard to do just a pain to get up there to replace. Hope this helps and good luck. Regards, Carter

It would be a good idea to take care of this issue ASAP. The big question is what will be the long term affect to the rest of the electrical system on the car, if this remains unrepaired? There is enough potential problems to leave a very fixable one unfixed. Do your car a favor and do the repair. I encourage you to make it happen. Contact Steffen or SSC. They are very easy to work with and with help with the issue. Take care and hope it all works out. Regards, Carter

Got an email address, pay pal, and home address. This is all it would take. Like I said. In the long run how will it affect the electrical system that is run by the General Module? A lot of relays run off that module. The big one would be the A-5 in the driver side door sill. Do the swap. Lets say you are trying to get into your car. The central locking system is not working. Also the slight down drop for the window. More of a pain but have you put into thought that the the drivers side window might break if being closed or opened in the up position. Not designed to do this on a normal bases. That glass will take only so much. Wonder what the cost of replacing that glass would be? But of course you can do as you please, just trying to say that not fixing the problem may cause other issue's. Good luck with what ever you decide. Take care,

Regards,

Carter
