I have posted in 8er.org too.

Just looking for any ideas?

Hi guys

I just got back from a two week trip away to start my '99 840 Ci and see that the inspection light is lit upon ignition. The car was serviced around 1800 miles ago and I still have the 4 green lights lit.

No problems with the car, it has done 35,800 miles and bought with 34 odd thousand. Was serviced before I picked it up.

Any ideas? It is under BMW warranty so I will take it to them if noone can shed any light.

Thanks

BMW Inspection Schedule (http://www.baydiagnostic.com/inspection.htm)

4 green is good. Once it goes to yellow then you will need service. It will tell you what you will need (Oil Service, inspection, etc).

Thats what I thought. I was just thinking it was weird that the inspection light came on as well as the 4 green lights.

According to this it does mean my brake fluid is due a change, which is strange as it states in the service book that it was changed, maybe they didn't reset correctly. http://www.vinesofguildfordbmw.co.uk...plus_need.html (http://www.vinesofguildfordbmw.co.uk/service/fourplus_need.html)

What do you guys think?

If it needs changed then I will go to the dealer and attempt to get it done under the warranty as they have already claimed they have done it! Although I don't know if I'd have much luck with that.

Thanks for the comments
