I bought a BMW Becker Indianapolis Head Unit for my car but I have no manual and can't find a manual anywhere, my questions are,

1) Does anyone no where I can get a copy of the manual?
2) Does anyone know if it will control the Becker Silverstone CD Changer?

I also finally got a McIntosh MCC446 6-Channel Amp (4x55w & 2x110w) to go with it, now I just need to decide on which speakers I want to use, I have always been a fan of Polk Audios but am also looking at Boston Acoustics & MB Quarts.

Also Revtor if you read this where did you get the polarizer filter for yours, I would like to change the filter as you did on your first attempt at a negative display, was it hard to do?

Nice amp! WHy not try A/D/S speakers? They blow your choices out the water.

These are the manuals for the Becker version of the unit. With recent navigation software, the differences between the BMW and Becker version should be minimal. Operation Guide + Installation Guide (http://www.mybecker.com/www_root/documents/7920_Indianapolis_EuEn_Operation_Guide_Installatio n_Guide.pdf)
Update Manual (http://www.mybecker.com/www_root/documents/7920_Indianapolis_EuEn_Update_Manual.pdf)2) Does anyone know if it will control the Becker Silverstone CD Changer?
Good question... It seems there are a few hardware revisions of the BMW 7969. Originally the units were equipped with the BMW cd changer protocol meaning Becker cd changers don't work (the original cd changer in the E31 won't work either - too old). Somewhere along the line the differences between the 7969 and the rest of the 792x series got smaller and apparantly the newer units support the Becker Silverstone 2630, 2640, 2660 and 7860. Please note that I cannot confirm any of this. I never tested it. I just read about it.

Personally I would ditch the cd changer completely.

I got mine from Polarization.com (http://www.polarization.com/shop/catalog/index.html). But like I wrote in my article the filter is way too blue for my taste. Now that I've redone my mod by swapping the complete hardware, I would advice against the filter swap. If swapping the hardware is a bit too far for you, I'd leave it stock... The problem with the filter swap is that - if you're not satisfied with the results - you cannot revert back to the original filter. It's simply impossible to get it off without ruining it...

Hard? Unless you are really clumsy I would say no. You just have to be very careful not to break the display while tearing of the current filter. It sticks onto the display quite hard. Put the display on a flat - unbendable - surface that doesn't make scratches on glass. Once you managed to peel off a corner of the filter, keep it in position with your thumb and index finger at each end - optionally using the index finger as support in the middle. Never pull the filter off upwards. The display's glass is very thin and may/will break. Always pull in the same plane as the surface. Getting the new filter on may prove to be tricky too as small dust particles will cause visisble and annoying bubbles.

Many thanks for the manual links, I will most likely ditch the CD changer and I think I will keep the display as is, I don't want to take a chance of breaking it as these units are hard to come by.

From what I read the a/d/s/ line has been discontinued, they are now called Precision Power, I'll check into them.
