Does anyone know a place where I can get straight pipes made? I want them welded on to the down pipes and to attach to the rear exhaust muffler. It shouldn't be too hard, but most shops won't do it because it requires removing the cat.

Andrew, are you still down to help me do this if all else fails?

Go to Scottsdale Muffler over on Thomas. They can bend pipes and weld and all that other crap you need done.

That's where Andrew went to have his straight pipes done.

Well I took a look at my exhaust today and I was pleased to see my cat and resonator are all in a straight line. This means all I gotta do is cut out the shit and throw on new pipes, no bending required. Andrew, if your out there I would love your help on this project.

Oh for the record:

Most exhaust shops won't even think about cutting out your cats. It is illegal. However, they can repair exhaust systems, so if YOU cut out your cats and bring them your car with straight pipes clamped on, they can weld them up. This is what Andrew did.

I wonder if they could weld on pipes in place of a gap. If so then I can just cut off may shit with a dremel and take them the car.

AFAIK this could be potentially illegal as well... the government can be VERY touchy when it comes to catalytic converters. But if Andrew was able to do this, you should be ok...

Eric, Scottsdale Muffler is the place to go for straight pipes. If you have any questions call my cell. 602-326-6686. I've been out of town, but I keep an eye on the boards. Just put (4) thousand miles on the roadster, going back home.
